创12:1 耶和华对埃布尔兰说：“你要离开本地、本族、父家，到我指示你的地方去。
创12:1 Now the Lord said to Abram, Go out from your country and from your family and from your father's house, into the land to which I will be your guide:
创12:2 我必使你成为大国，赐福给你，使你的名为大，你也必使别人得福，
创12:2 And I will make of you a great nation, blessing you and making your name great; and you will be a blessing:
创12:3 给你祝福的，我必赐福给他；咒诅你的，我必咒诅他；地上的万族，都必因你得福。”
创12:3 To them who are good to you will I give blessing, and on him who does you wrong will I put my curse: and you will become a name of blessing to all the families of the earth.
创12:4 埃布尔兰就照着耶和华吩咐他的去了；罗得也和他同去。
创12:4 So Abram went as the Lord had said to him, and Lot went with him: Abram was seventy-five years old when he went away from Haran.
创12:5 埃布尔兰离开哈兰的时候，已经七十五岁。埃布尔兰带着他的妻子撒莱和侄儿罗得以及他们在哈兰所积蓄的一切财物，和所获得的人口，一同出来，要到迦南地去。后来他们到了迦南地。
创12:5 And Abram took Sarai, his wife, and Lot, his brother's son, and all their goods and the servants which they had got in Haran, and they went out to go to the land of Canaan.
创12:6 埃布尔兰穿过那地，到了示剑的地方，摩利的橡树那里。当时，迦南人住在那地。
创12:6 And Abram went through the land till he came to Shechem, to the holy tree of Moreh. At that time, the Canaanites were still living in the land.
创12:7 耶和华向埃布尔兰显现，说：“我要把这地赐给你的后裔。”埃布尔兰就在那里为向他显现的耶和华筑了一座祭坛。
创12:7 And the Lord came to Abram, and said, I will give all this land to your seed; then Abram made an altar there to the Lord who had let himself be seen by him.
创12:8 后来他从那里迁到伯特利东边的山地，搭起帐棚。西边是伯特利，东边是艾城；他在那里也为耶和华筑了一座祭坛，呼求耶和华的名。
创12:8 And moving on from there to the mountain on the east of Beth-el, he put up his tent, having Beth-el on the west and Ai on the east: and there he made an altar and gave worship to the name of the Lord.
创12:9 埃布尔兰又起程，渐渐移到南地去。
创12:9 And he went on, journeying still to the South.
创12:10 当时，那地发生饥荒，埃布尔兰就下到埃及去，要在那里寄居；因为那地的饥荒十分严重。
创12:10 And because there was little food to be had in that land, he went down into Egypt.
创12:11 快要到达埃及的时候，埃布尔兰对他的妻子撒莱说：“看哪，我知道你是个美貌的女人。
创12:11 Now when he came near to Egypt, he said to Sarai, his wife, Truly, you are a fair woman and beautiful to the eye;
创12:12 埃及人看见你的时候，必会说：‘这是他的妻子’，他们就会杀我，却叫你活着。
创12:12 And I am certain that when the men of Egypt see you, they will say, This is his wife: and they will put me to death and keep you.
创12:13 请你说你是我的妹妹，使我因你的缘故可以平安无事，我的性命也可以因你的缘故得以保全。”
创12:13 Say, then, that you are my sister, and so it will be well with me because of you, and my life will be kept safe on your account.
创12:14 果然，埃布尔兰进入埃及的时候，埃及人就注视那女人，因为她十分美丽。
创12:14 And so it was that when Abram came into Egypt, the men of Egypt, looking on the woman, saw that she was fair.
创12:15 法老的一些大臣看见了撒莱，就在法老面前称赞她；于是那女人被带进法老的宫里去。
创12:15 And Pharaoh's great men, having seen her, said words in praise of her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into Pharaoh's house.
创12:16 埃布尔兰因这女人的缘故就被优待，得了许多牛羊、公驴、母驴、仆婢和骆驼。
创12:16 And because of her, he was good to Abram, and he had sheep and oxen and asses, and men-servants and women-servants, and camels.
创12:17 耶和华因为埃布尔兰的妻子撒莱的缘故，就用严重的灾病打击法老和他的全家。
创12:17 And the Lord sent great troubles on Pharaoh's house because of Sarai, Abram's wife.
创12:18 于是，法老把埃布尔兰召了来，对他说：“你向我作的是什么？你为什么不告诉我她是你的妻子呢？
创12:18 Then Pharaoh sent for Abram, and said, What have you done to me? why did you not say that she was your wife?
创12:19 你为什么说她是你的妹妹，以致我娶了她作妻子呢？现在，你的妻子在这里，带她走吧！”
创12:19 Why did you say that she was your sister? so that I took her for my wife: now, take your wife and go on your way.
创12:20 法老吩咐臣仆，他们就把埃布尔兰和他的妻子，以及他所有的一切都送走了。
创12:20 And Pharaoh gave orders to his men, and they sent him on his way, with his wife and all he had.
