约壹1:1 论到太初就已经存在的生命之道，就是我们所听见，亲眼所看见，仔细观察过，亲手摸过的；
约壹1:1 That which was from the first, which has come to our ears, and which we have seen with our eyes, looking on it and touching it with our hands, about the Word of life
约壹1:2 这生命已经显现出来，我们见过了，现在也作见证，并且向你们宣扬这本来与父同在，又向我们显现过的永远的生命。
约壹1:2 (And the life was made clear to us, and we have seen it and are witnessing to it and giving you word of that eternal life which was with the Father and was seen by us);
约壹1:3 我们把所看见所听见的向你们宣扬，使你们也可以和我们心灵相通。我们是与父和他的儿子耶稣基督心灵相通的。
约壹1:3 We give you word of all we have seen and everything which has come to our ears, so that you may be united with us; and we are united with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ:
约壹1:4 我们写这些事，是要使我们的喜乐充足。
约壹1:4 And we are writing these things to you so that our joy may be made complete.
约壹1:5 神是光，在他里面毫无黑暗；这就是我们从他那里听见，现在传给你们的信息。
约壹1:5 This is the word which came to us from him and which we give to you, that God is light and in him there is nothing dark.
约壹1:6 我们若说自己与他心灵相通，却行在黑暗里，就是说谎话，不实行真理了。
约壹1:6 If we say we are joined to him, and are walking still in the dark, our words are false and our acts are untrue:
约壹1:7 我们若行在光中，像他在光中一样，就彼此心灵相通，他儿子耶稣的血也洁净我们脱离一切罪。
约壹1:7 But if we are walking in the light, as he is in the light, we are all united with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son makes us clean from all sin.
约壹1:8 我们若说自己没有罪，就是自欺，真理就不在我们里面了。
约壹1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are false to ourselves and there is nothing true in us.
约壹1:9 我们若承认自己的罪， 神是信实的、公义的，必定赦免我们的罪，洁净我们脱离一切不义。
约壹1:9 If we say openly that we have done wrong, he is upright and true to his word, giving us forgiveness of sins and making us clean from all evil.
约壹1:10 我们若说自己没有犯过罪，就是把 神当作说谎的，他的道就不在我们心里了。
约壹1:10 If we say that we have no sin, we make him false and his word is not in us.
