和 尼4:1 参巴拉听见我们修造城墙，就发怒，大大恼恨，嗤笑犹大人。
K 尼4:1 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.
N 尼4:1 When Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed the Jews,
和 尼4:2 对他弟兄和撒马利亚的军兵说：“这些软弱的犹大人做什么呢？要保护自己吗？要献祭吗？要一日成功吗？要从土堆里拿出火烧的石头再立墙吗？”
K 尼4:2 And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?
N 尼4:2 and in the presence of his associates and the army of Samaria, he said, "What are those feeble Jews doing? Will they restore their wall? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble--burned as they are?"
和 尼4:3 亚扪人多比雅站在旁边说：“他们所修造的石墙，就是狐狸上去也必跐倒。”
K 尼4:3 Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.
N 尼4:3 Tobiah the Ammonite, who was at his side, said, "What they are building--if even a fox climbed up on it, he would break down their wall of stones!"
和 尼4:4 我们的 神啊，求你垂听！因为我们被藐视。求你使他们的毁谤归于他们的头上，使他们在掳到之地作为掠物。
K 尼4:4 Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity:
N 尼4:4 Hear us, O our God, for we are despised. Turn their insults back on their own heads. Give them over as plunder in a land of captivity.
和 尼4:5 不要遮掩他们的罪孽，不要使他们的罪恶从你面前涂抹，因为他们在修造的人眼前惹动你的怒气。
K 尼4:5 And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.
N 尼4:5 Do not cover up their guilt or blot out their sins from your sight, for they have thrown insults in the face of the builders.
和 尼4:6 这样，我们修造城墙，城墙就都连络，高至一半，因为百姓专心做工。
K 尼4:6 So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.
N 尼4:6 So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart.
和 尼4:7 参巴拉、多比雅、亚拉伯人、亚扪人、亚实突人听见修造耶路撒冷城墙，着手进行堵塞破裂的地方，就甚发怒。
K 尼4:7 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth,
N 尼4:7 But when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the men of Ashdod heard that the repairs to Jerusalem's walls had gone ahead and that the gaps were being closed, they were very angry.
和 尼4:8 大家同谋要来攻击耶路撒冷，使城内扰乱，
K 尼4:8 And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.
N 尼4:8 They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it.
和 尼4:9 然而我们祷告我们的 神，又因他们的缘故，就派人看守，昼夜防备。
K 尼4:9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.
N 尼4:9 But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat.
和 尼4:10 犹大人说：“灰土尚多，扛抬的人力气已经衰败，所以我们不能建造城墙。”
K 尼4:10 And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall.
N 尼4:10 Meanwhile, the people in Judah said, "The strength of the laborers is giving out, and there is so much rubble that we cannot rebuild the wall."
和 尼4:11 我们的敌人且说：“趁他们不知不见，我们进入他们中间杀他们，使工作止住。”
K 尼4:11 And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease.
N 尼4:11 Also our enemies said, "Before they know it or see us, we will be right there among them and will kill them and put an end to the work."
和 尼4:12 那靠近敌人居住的犹大人，十次从各处来见我们说：“你们必要回到我们那里。”
K 尼4:12 And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you.
N 尼4:12 Then the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times over, "Wherever you turn, they will attack us."
和 尼4:13 所以我使百姓各按宗族拿刀、拿枪、拿弓站在城墙后边低洼的空处。
K 尼4:13 Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.
N 尼4:13 Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.
和 尼4:14 我察看了，就起来对贵胄、官长和其余的人说：“不要怕他们，当记念主是大而可畏的。你们要为弟兄、儿女、妻子、家产争战！”
K 尼4:14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
N 尼4:14 After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes."
和 尼4:15 仇敌听见我们知道他们的心意，见 神也破坏他们的计谋，就不来了。我们都回到城墙那里，各做各的工。
K 尼4:15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.
N 尼4:15 When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to his own work.
和 尼4:16 从那日起，我的仆人一半做工，一半拿枪、拿盾牌、拿弓、穿（或作“拿”）铠甲。官长都站在犹大众人的后边。
K 尼4:16 And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah.
N 尼4:16 From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah
和 尼4:17 修造城墙的、扛抬材料的，都一手做工，一手拿兵器。
K 尼4:17 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.
N 尼4:17 who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other,
和 尼4:18 修造的人都腰间佩刀修造，吹角的人在我旁边。
K 尼4:18 For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.
N 尼4:18 and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me.
和 尼4:19 我对贵胄、官长和其余的人说：“这工程浩大，我们在城墙上相离甚远，
K 尼4:19 And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another.
N 尼4:19 Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall.
和 尼4:20 你们听见角声在哪里，就聚集到我们那里去。我们的 神必为我们争战。”
K 尼4:20 In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.
N 尼4:20 Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!"
和 尼4:21 于是我们做工，一半拿兵器，从天亮直到星宿出现的时候。
K 尼4:21 So we laboured in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared.
N 尼4:21 So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out.
和 尼4:22 那时，我又对百姓说：“各人和他的仆人当在耶路撒冷住宿，好在夜间保守我们，白昼做工。”
K 尼4:22 Likewise at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day.
N 尼4:22 At that time I also said to the people, "Have every man and his helper stay inside Jerusalem at night, so they can serve us as guards by night and workmen by day."
和 尼4:23 这样，我和弟兄、仆人并跟从我的护兵，都不脱衣服，出去打水也带兵器。
K 尼4:23 So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing.
N 尼4:23 Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off our clothes; each had his weapon, even when he went for water.
