13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
N 林前13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
N 林前13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
N 林前13:3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
N 林前13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
K 林前13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
N 林前13:5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
和 林前13:6 不喜欢不义,只喜欢真理;
K 林前13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
N 林前13:6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
和 林前13:7 凡事包容,凡事相信,凡事盼望,凡事忍耐;
K 林前13:7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
N 林前13:7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
N 林前13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
13:9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
N 林前13:9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
13:10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
N 林前13:10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
N 林前13:11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.
13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
N 林前13:12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
N 林前13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
