王上3:1 所罗门与埃及王法老结亲，娶了法老的女儿，把她迎进大卫城，直等到他的王宫、耶和华的殿和耶路撒冷周围的城墙都建造完了。
王上3:1 Solomon became the son-in-law of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh's daughter as his wife, keeping her in the town of David, till the house he was building for himself, and the house of the Lord and the wall round Jerusalem, were complete.
王上3:2 不过在那些日子，人民仍然在邱坛上献祭，因为还没有为耶和华的名建造殿宇。
王上3:2 But all this time the people were making their offerings in the high places, because no house had been put up to the name of the Lord till those days.
王上3:3 所罗门爱耶和华，遵行他父亲大卫的律例；只是他仍然在邱坛上宰杀和焚烧祭牲。
王上3:3 And Solomon, in his love for the Lord, kept the laws of David his father; but he made offerings and let them go up in smoke on the high places.
王上3:4 有一次，王到基遍去献祭，因为那里有极大的邱坛。所罗门在那祭坛上献上了一千燔祭。
王上3:4 And the king went to Gibeon to make an offering there, because that was the chief high place: it was Solomon's way to make a thousand burned offerings on that altar.
王上3:5 那天晚上在基遍，耶和华在梦中向所罗门显现； 神说：“你无论求什么，我必赐给你。”
王上3:5 In Gibeon, Solomon had a vision of the Lord in a dream by night; and God said to him, Say what I am to give you.
王上3:6 所罗门说：“你仆人我父亲大卫以诚实、公义和正直的心在你面前行事为人，你就以极大的慈爱待他；你又为他存留这极大的慈爱，赐给他一个儿子坐在他的王位上，正如今日一样。
王上3:6 And Solomon said, Great was your mercy to David my father, as his life before you was true and upright and his heart was true to you; and you have kept for him this greatest mercy, a son to take his place this day.
王上3:7 耶和华我的 神啊，现在你使仆人接续我的父亲大卫作王，但我还年轻，不知道应当怎样处事。
王上3:7 And now, O Lord my God, you have made your servant king in the place of David my father; and I am only a young boy, with no knowledge of how to go out or come in.
王上3:8 仆人住在你拣选的子民中；这些子民很多，多得不能数算。
王上3:8 And your servant has round him the people of your selection, a people so great that they may not be numbered, and no account of them may be given.
王上3:9 所以，求你赐给仆人一颗明辨的心，可以判断你的子民，能辨别是非，因为谁能判断你这众多的子民呢？”
王上3:9 Give your servant, then, a wise heart for judging your people, able to see what is good and what evil; for who is able to be the judge of this great people?
王上3:10 所罗门因为求这些事，就蒙主的喜悦。
王上3:10 Now these words and Solomon's request were pleasing to the Lord.
王上3:11 神对他说：“因为你求这事，不为自己求长寿，不为自己求财富，也不求你仇敌的性命，单单为自己求聪明可以明辨是非公平，
王上3:11 And God said to him, Because your request is for this thing, and not for long life for yourself or for wealth or for the destruction of your haters, but for wisdom to be a judge of causes;
王上3:12 我就照着你所求的而行；赐给你一个智慧和明辨的心，在你以前没有人像你，在你以后也不会有人像你。
王上3:12 I have done as you said: I have given you a wise and far-seeing heart, so that there has never been your equal in the past, and never will there be any like you in the future.
王上3:13 连你所没有求的，我也赐给你，就是财富、尊荣，以至你一生的年日，在列王之中没有一人能像你。
王上3:13 And with this I have given you what you made no request for: wealth and honour, so that no king was ever your equal.
王上3:14 如果你遵行了我的道，谨守我的律例、诫命，正如你父亲大卫所行的，我就必延长你的寿数。”
王上3:14 And if you go on in my ways, keeping my laws and my orders as your father David did, I will give you a long life.
王上3:15 所罗门醒来，原来是一个梦。于是他回到耶路撒冷，站在耶和华的约柜前，献上燔祭，又献上平安祭，也为他的众臣仆摆设筵席。
王上3:15 And Solomon, awakening, saw that it was a dream; then he came to Jerusalem, where he went before the ark of the agreement of the Lord, offering burned offerings and peace-offerings; and he made a feast for all his servants.
王上3:16 有一天，有两个作妓女的妇人来见王，站在他面前。
王上3:16 Then two loose women of the town came and took their places before the king;
王上3:17 其中一个妇人说：“我主啊，我和这妇人同住；她与我在房子里的时候，我生了一个孩子。
王上3:17 And one of them said, O my lord, I and this woman are living in the same house; and I gave birth to a child by her side in the house.
王上3:18 我生了孩子以后的第三天，这妇人也生了一个孩子。我们都住在一起。除了我们两个人在房子里以外，再没有别人与我们一起在这房子里。
王上3:18 And three days after the birth of my child, this woman had a child: we were together, no other-person was with us in the house but we two only.
王上3:19 夜间，这妇人睡觉的时候，压死了她的孩子。
王上3:19 In the night, this woman, sleeping on her child, was the cause of its death.
王上3:20 她却在半夜，趁着婢女睡着的时候，起来，从我身旁把儿子抱去，放在她的怀里；又把她死了的儿子放在我的怀里。
王上3:20 And she got up in the middle of the night and took my son from my side while your servant was sleeping; and she took it in her arms and put her dead child in my arms.
王上3:21 第二天早上我起来，要给我的儿子吃奶的时候，发觉他死了。那天早晨我再仔细察看，发觉他并不是我所生的儿子！”
王上3:21 And when I got up to give my child the breast, I saw that it was dead; but in the morning, looking at it with care, I saw that it was not my son.
王上3:22 那一个妇人说：“不！活的儿子是我的，死的儿子才是你的。”但这一个妇人说：“不！死的儿子是你的，活的儿子才是我的。”她们在王面前彼此争辩。
王上3:22 And the other woman said, No; but the living child is my son and the dead one yours. But the first said, No; the dead child is your son and the living one mine. So they kept on talking before the king.
王上3:23 王说：“这个妇人说：‘活的儿子是我的，死的儿子才是你的’，那个妇人却说：‘不！死的儿子是你的，活的儿子才是我的。’”
王上3:23 Then the king said, One says, The living child is my son, and yours is the dead: and the other says, Not so; but your son is the dead one and mine is the living.
王上3:24 王就吩咐：“给我拿一把刀来！”人就把刀带到王面前。
王上3:24 Then he said, Get me a sword. So they went and put a sword before the king.
王上3:25 王说：“把活的孩子劈成两半，一半给这个妇人，一半给那个妇人。”
王上3:25 And the king said, Let the living child be cut in two and one half given to one woman and one to the other.
王上3:26 那活孩子的母亲因为爱子心切，就对王说：“我主啊，把那活的孩子给她吧，千万不可杀死他！”另一个妇人却说：“这孩子也不归我，也不归你，把他劈开吧！”
王上3:26 Then the mother of the living child came forward, for her heart went out to her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the child; do not on any account put it to death. But the other woman said, It will not be mine or yours; let it be cut in two.
王上3:27 王回答说：“把活孩子给这个妇人，千万不可杀死他，这个妇人实在是他的母亲。”
王上3:27 Then the king made answer and said, Give her the child, and do not put it to death; she is the mother of it.
王上3:28 以色列众人听见王判断的这案件，就都敬畏他，因为看见他心里有 神的智慧，能够判案。
王上3:28 And news of this decision which the king had made went through all Israel; and they had fear of the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to give decisions.
