撒上1:1 在以法莲山地的拉玛.琐非，有一个以法莲人名叫以利加拿，是耶罗罕的儿子、以利户的孙子、托户的曾孙、苏弗的玄孙。
撒上1:1 Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim, a Zuphite of the hill-country of Ephraim, named Elkanah; he was the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite:
撒上1:2 他有两个妻子，一个名叫哈拿，另一个名叫毗尼拿。毗尼拿有孩子，哈拿却没有孩子。
撒上1:2 And he had two wives, one named Hannah and the other Peninnah: and Peninnah was the mother of children, but Hannah had no children.
撒上1:3 这人每年都从他的本城上示罗去敬拜，献祭给万军之耶和华。在示罗有以利的两个儿子，何弗尼和非尼哈，作耶和华的祭司。
撒上1:3 Now this man went up from his town every year to give worship and to make offerings to the Lord of armies in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lord, were there.
撒上1:4 以利加拿在献祭的那天，就把祭肉分给妻子毗尼拿和她所有的儿女。
撒上1:4 And when the day came for Elkanah to make his offering, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and daughters, their part of the feast:
撒上1:5 但他当面只分给哈拿一份；他虽然爱哈拿，耶和华却使哈拿不能怀孕。
撒上1:5 But to Hannah he gave one part, though Hannah was very dear to him, but the Lord had not let her have children.
撒上1:6 因为耶和华使哈拿不能怀孕，她的对头就尽力刺激她，使她苦恼。
撒上1:6 And the other wife did everything possible to make her unhappy, because the Lord had not let her have children;
撒上1:7 年年都是这样；每逢她上耶和华殿的时候，毗尼拿总是刺激哈拿，使她哭泣，吃不下饭。
撒上1:7 And year by year, whenever she went up to the house of the Lord, she kept on attacking her, so that Hannah gave herself up to weeping and would take no food.
撒上1:8 她的丈夫以利加拿对她说：“哈拿，你为什么哭泣？为什么不吃饭，为什么心里难过呢？你有我不是比有十个儿子更好吗？”
撒上1:8 Then her husband Elkanah said to her, Hannah, why are you weeping? and why are you taking no food? why is your heart troubled? am I not more to you than ten sons?
撒上1:9 哈拿在示罗吃喝完了，就起来。（那时以利祭司在耶和华殿的门柱旁边，坐在椅子上。）
撒上1:9 So after they had taken food and wine in the guest room, Hannah got up. Now Eli the priest was seated by the pillars of the doorway of the Temple of the Lord.
撒上1:10 她心里愁苦，就向耶和华祷告，流泪痛哭，
撒上1:10 And with grief in her soul, weeping bitterly, she made her prayer to the Lord.
撒上1:11 并且许愿，说：“万军之耶和华啊，你若是看顾使女的困苦，记念我，不忘记你的使女，赐给使女一个儿子，我就必把他一生献给耶和华，不剃他的头。”
撒上1:11 And she made an oath, and said, O Lord of armies, if you will truly take note of the sorrow of your servant, not turning away from me but keeping me in mind, and will give me a man-child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and his hair will never be cut.
撒上1:12 哈拿向耶和华祷告了很久，以利一直在注视她的嘴。
撒上1:12 Now while she was a long time in prayer before the Lord, Eli was watching her mouth.
撒上1:13 原来哈拿是在心中诉说，只见她的嘴唇在动，却听不见她的声音，因此以利以为她是个喝醉了的女人。
撒上1:13 For Hannah's prayer came from her heart, and though her lips were moving she made no sound: so it seemed to Eli that she was overcome with wine.
撒上1:14 以利就对她说：“你要醉到几时呢？快快醒过来吧！”
撒上1:14 And Eli said to her, How long are you going to be the worse for drink? Put away the effects of your wine from you.
撒上1:15 哈拿回答：“我主啊，不是的。我是个心灵愁苦的妇人，淡酒烈酒都没有喝，只不过在耶和华面前倾吐我的心意。
撒上1:15 And Hannah, answering him, said, No, my lord, I am a woman whose spirit is broken with sorrow: I have not taken wine or strong drink, but I have been opening my heart before the Lord.
撒上1:16 不要把你的使女看作不检点的女子，我因为极度愁苦和激动，才一直倾诉到现在。”
撒上1:16 Do not take your servant to be a good-for-nothing woman: for my words have come from my stored-up sorrow and pain.
撒上1:17 以利回答：“平平安安回去吧！愿以色列的 神把你所求的赐给你。”
撒上1:17 Then Eli said to her, Go in peace: and may the God of Israel give you an answer to the prayer you have made to him.
撒上1:18 哈拿说：“愿你的婢女在你眼前蒙恩！”于是这妇人回去，并且吃饭，脸上再没有愁容。
撒上1:18 And she said, May your servant have grace in your eyes. So the woman went away, and took part in the feast, and her face was no longer sad.
撒上1:19 第二天，他们清早起来，在耶和华面前敬拜，然后回到他们的家乡拉玛，回到自己的家里去。以利加拿和妻子哈拿同房；耶和华顾念哈拿，
撒上1:19 And early in the morning they got up, and after worshipping before the Lord they went back to Ramah, to their house: and Elkanah had connection with his wife; and the Lord kept her in mind.
撒上1:20 她就怀孕；时候到了，就生了一个儿子，哈拿给他起名叫撒母耳，因为她说：“他是我从耶和华那里求来的。”
撒上1:20 Now the time came when Hannah, being with child, gave birth to a son; and she gave him the name Samuel, Because, she said, I made a prayer to the Lord for him.
撒上1:21 以利加拿和他全家都上示罗去，向耶和华献年祭和还所许的愿；
撒上1:21 And the man Elkanah with all his family went up to make the year's offering to the Lord, and to give effect to his oath.
撒上1:22 哈拿却没有上去，因为她对丈夫说：“等孩子断了奶，我才带他去朝见耶和华。他要永远住在那里。”
撒上1:22 But Hannah did not go, for she said to her husband, I will not go till the child has been taken from the breast, and then I will take him with me and put him before the Lord, where he may be for ever.
撒上1:23 她丈夫以利加拿对她说：“你看怎样好，就怎样作吧。你可以留在这里，等到你给孩子断了奶，但愿耶和华实现他的话。”于是哈拿留在家里乳养孩子，直到给他断了奶。
撒上1:23 And her husband Elkanah said to her, Do whatever seems right to you, but not till you have taken him from the breast; only may the Lord do as he has said. So the woman, waiting there, gave her son milk till he was old enough to be taken from the breast.
撒上1:24 她给孩子断了奶之后，就带他一同上去，又带了一头三岁的公牛、十公斤面和一皮袋酒。她把孩子带到示罗耶和华的殿那里；那时孩子还很小。
撒上1:24 Then when she had done so, she took him with her, with a three-year old ox and an ephah of meal and a skin full of wine, and took him to the house of the Lord at Shiloh: now the child was still very young.
撒上1:25 他们宰了公牛以后，就带孩子到以利那里，
撒上1:25 And when they had made an offering of the ox, they took the child to Eli.
撒上1:26 妇人说：“我主啊，我敢指着我主的性命起誓，我就是从前在这里站在你旁边，向耶和华祷告的那个妇人。
撒上1:26 And she said, O my lord, as your soul is living, my lord, I am that woman who was making a prayer to the Lord here by your side:
撒上1:27 那时我祈求为要得这孩子，耶和华已经把我向他所求的赐给我了，
撒上1:27 My prayer was for this child; and the Lord has given him to me in answer to my request:
撒上1:28 所以我现在把他献给耶和华，他的一生是属于耶和华的。”于是他就在那里敬拜耶和华。
撒上1:28 So I have given him to the Lord; for all his life he is the Lord's. Then he gave the Lord worship there.
