撒上7:1 基列．耶琳人就前来，把耶和华的约柜抬上去；他们把它抬到山上亚比拿达的家中，又把他的儿子以利亚撒分别为圣，看守耶和华的约柜。
撒上7:1 So the men of Kiriath-jearim came and took the ark of the Lord to the house of Abinadab in Gibeah, and they made his son Eleazar holy and put the ark in his care.
撒上7:2 约柜停留在基列．耶琳很久，有二十年之久，以色列全家都痛悔寻求耶和华。
撒上7:2 And the ark was in Kiriath-jearim for a long time, as much as twenty years: and all Israel was searching after the Lord with weeping.
撒上7:3 于是撒母耳对以色列全家说：“如果你们一心归向耶和华，就当把外族的神和亚斯他录从你们中间除掉，专心归向耶和华，单单事奉他，他必救你们脱离非利士人的手。”
撒上7:3 Then Samuel said to all Israel, If with all your hearts you would come back to the Lord, then put away all the strange gods and the Astartes from among you, and let your hearts be turned to the Lord, and be servants to him only: and he will make you safe from the hands of the Philistines.
撒上7:4 以色列人就除掉众巴力和亚斯他录，单单事奉耶和华。
撒上7:4 So the children of Israel gave up the worship of Baal and Astarte, and became worshippers of the Lord only.
撒上7:5 撒母耳又说：“你们要把以色列众人都聚集在米斯巴，我好为你们向耶和华祷告。”
撒上7:5 Then Samuel said, Let all Israel come to Mizpah and I will make prayer to the Lord for you.
撒上7:6 于是，他们聚集在米斯巴，打了水，浇奠在耶和华面前；当日他们禁食，并且在那里说：“我们得罪了耶和华。”撒母耳就在米斯巴治理以色列人。
撒上7:6 So they came together to Mizpah, and got water, draining it out before the Lord, and they took no food that day, and they said, We have done evil against the Lord. And Samuel was judge of the children of Israel in Mizpah.
撒上7:7 非利士人听见以色列人集合在米斯巴，各城的领袖就上来攻打以色列人；以色列人听见了，都害怕起来。
撒上7:7 Now when the Philistines had news that the children of Israel had come together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And the children of Israel, hearing of it, were full of fear.
撒上7:8 以色列人对撒母耳说：“请你不要静默，为我们呼求耶和华我们的 神吧，好叫他拯救我们脱离非利士人的手。”
撒上7:8 And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Go on crying to the Lord our God for us to make us safe from the hands of the Philistines.
撒上7:9 撒母耳就牵来一只还在吃奶的羊羔，把牠作全牲的燔祭献给耶和华，又为以色列人向耶和华呼求，耶和华就应允他。
撒上7:9 And Samuel took a young lamb, offering all of it as a burned offering to the Lord; and Samuel made prayers to the Lord for Israel and the Lord gave him an answer.
撒上7:10 撒母耳正在献上燔祭的时候，非利士人前来要与以色列人争战。当天，耶和华发出极大的雷声，攻击非利士人，使他们溃乱，他们就在以色列人面前被击败。
撒上7:10 And while Samuel was offering the burned offering, the Philistines came near for the attack on Israel; but at the thunder of the Lord's voice that day the Philistines were overcome with fear, and they gave way before Israel.
撒上7:11 于是以色列人从米斯巴出去，追赶非利士人，击杀他们，直到伯．甲的下边。
撒上7:11 And the men of Israel went out from Mizpah and went after the Philistines, attacking them till they came under Beth-car.
撒上7:12 撒母耳搬来了一块石头，把它竖立在米斯巴和善之间，给这块石头起名叫以便以谢，说：“直到现在，耶和华都帮助我们。”
撒上7:12 Then Samuel took a stone and put it up between Mizpah and Jeshanah, naming it Eben-ezer, and saying, Up to now the Lord has been our help.
撒上7:13 这样，非利士人就被制伏了，不再侵犯以色列的境界。撒母耳在世的日子，耶和华的手一直攻击非利士人。
撒上7:13 So the Philistines were overcome, and did not come into the country of Israel again: and all the days of Samuel the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines.
撒上7:14 非利士人从以色列人夺得的城市，自以革伦直到迦特，都归还以色列人；属于这些城市的四境，以色列人也从非利士人手中夺回。那时，以色列人和亚摩利人和平相处。
撒上7:14 And the towns which the Philistines had taken were given back to Israel, from Ekron to Gath, and all the country round them Israel made free from the power of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
撒上7:15 撒母耳终生作以色列人的士师。
撒上7:15 And Samuel was judge of Israel all the days of his life.
撒上7:16 他每年都巡回伯特利、吉甲和米斯巴，在这些地方治理以色列人。
撒上7:16 From year to year he went in turn to Beth-el and Gilgal and Mizpah, judging Israel in all those places.
撒上7:17 然后，他回到拉玛，因为他的家在那里。他也在那里治理以色列人，并且在那里为耶和华筑了一座祭坛。
撒上7:17 And his base was at Ramah, where his house was; there he was judge of Israel and there he made an altar to the Lord.
