王上18:1 过了许久，到第三年，耶和华的话临到以利亚说：“你去在亚哈面前出现，我要降雨在地面上。”
王上18:1 Now after a long time, the word of the Lord came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, Go and let Ahab see you, so that I may send rain on the earth.
王上18:2 于是以利亚去了，要在亚哈面前出现。那时撒玛利亚发生十分严重的饥荒。
王上18:2 So Elijah went to let Ahab see him. Now there was no food to be had in Samaria.
王上18:3 亚哈把他的家宰俄巴底召了来。原来俄巴底是个非常敬畏耶和华的人。
王上18:3 And Ahab sent for Obadiah, the controller of the king's house. (Now Obadiah had the fear of the Lord before him greatly;
王上18:4 耶洗别除灭耶和华众先知的时候，俄巴底带走了一百个先知，每五十个人一组，分散藏在山洞里，又用饼和水供养他们。
王上18:4 For when Jezebel was cutting off the prophets of the Lord, Obadiah took a hundred of them, and kept them secretly in a hole in the rock, fifty at a time, and gave them bread and water.)
王上18:5 亚哈对俄巴底说：“你走遍这地，到所有的水泉和溪水那里去看看，也许我们可以找到青草，使骡马能够生存，免得牲畜灭绝。”
王上18:5 And Ahab said to Obadiah, Come, let us go through all the country, to all the fountains of water and all the rivers, and see if there is any grass to be had for the horses and the transport beasts, so that we may be able to keep some of the beasts from destruction.
王上18:6 于是他们分地巡视。亚哈独自走一路，俄巴底独自走另一路。
王上18:6 So they went through all the country, covering it between them; Ahab went in one direction by himself, and Obadiah went in another by himself.
王上18:7 俄巴底在路上走的时候，以利亚遇见了他。俄巴底认出他来，就脸伏在地，说：“你真是我主以利亚吗？”
王上18:7 And while Obadiah was on his way, he came face to face with Elijah; and seeing who it was, he went down on his face and said, Is it you, my lord Elijah?
王上18:8 以利亚对他说：“我是。你去告诉你主人，说：‘以利亚在这里。’”
王上18:8 And Elijah in answer said, It is I; now go and say to your lord, Elijah is here.
王上18:9 俄巴底说：“我犯了什么罪，你竟要把你仆人交在亚哈手里，使他杀死我呢？
王上18:9 And he said, What sin have I done, that you would give up your servant into the hand of Ahab, and be the cause of my death?
王上18:10 我指着永活的耶和华你的 神起誓，没有一邦一国我主人不派人去找你的，人们若是说你不在那里，他就要那国邦起誓说实在找不到你。
王上18:10 By the life of the Lord your God, there is not a nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent in search of you; and when they said, He is not here; he made them take an oath that they had not seen you.
王上18:11 现在你说：‘你去告诉你主人：以利亚在这里。’
王上18:11 And now you say, Go, say to your lord, Elijah is here.
王上18:12 我一离开你，耶和华的灵就把你提到我不知道的地方去。这样，如果我去告诉亚哈，他找不到你，必定杀我。你仆人却是自幼敬畏耶和华的。
王上18:12 And straight away, when I have gone from you, the spirit of the Lord will take you away, I have no idea where, so that when I come and give word to Ahab, and he sees you not, he will put me to death: though I, your servant, have been a worshipper of the Lord from my earliest years.
王上18:13 难道没有人把我所作的事告诉我主吗？就是耶洗别杀害耶和华众先知的时候，我把一百个先知，五十人一组的分别藏在山洞里，又用饼和水供养他们。
王上18:13 Has my lord not had word of what I did when Jezebel was putting the Lord's prophets to death? how I kept a hundred of them in a secret hole in the rock, fifty at a time, and gave them bread and water?
王上18:14 现在你说：‘你去告诉你主人以利亚在这里！’他必定杀我。”
王上18:14 And now you say, Go and say to your Lord, Elijah is here; and he will put me to death.
王上18:15 以利亚说：“我指着我所服事永活的万军之耶和华起誓，今天我必在亚哈面前出现。”
王上18:15 And Elijah said, By the life of the Lord of armies, whose servant I am, I will certainly let him see me today.
王上18:16 于是俄巴底去见亚哈，把这事告诉他。亚哈就去见以利亚。
王上18:16 So Obadiah went to Ahab and gave him the news; and Ahab went to see Elijah.
王上18:17 亚哈看见了以利亚，就问他：“给以色列惹麻烦的这个人就是你吗？”
王上18:17 And when he saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, Is it you, you troubler of Israel?
王上18:18 以利亚说：“给以色列惹麻烦的，不是我，而是你和你父的家；因为你们离弃了耶和华的诫命，又去随从巴力。
王上18:18 Then he said in answer, I have not been troubling Israel, but you and your family; because, turning away from the orders of the Lord, you have gone after the Baals.
王上18:19 现在你要派人去召集以色列众人和四百五十个巴力的先知，以及耶洗别供养的四百个亚舍拉的先知，都上迦密山来见我。”
王上18:19 Now send, and get Israel together before me at Mount Carmel, with the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal who get their food at Jezebel's table.
王上18:20 于是亚哈派人召集众以色列人和众先知上迦密山去。
王上18:20 So Ahab sent for all the children of Israel, and got the prophets together at Mount Carmel.
王上18:21 以利亚走近众人说：“你们三心两意，要到几时呢？如果耶和华是 神，你们就应当随从耶和华；如果巴力是 神，你们就应当随从巴力。”众人一句话也不回答。
王上18:21 And Elijah came near to all the people and said, How long will you go on balancing between two opinions? if the Lord is God, then give worship to him; but if Baal, give worship to him. And the people said not a word in answer.
王上18:22 以利亚对众人说：“耶和华的先知只剩下我一个，巴力的先知却有四百五十个。
王上18:22 Then Elijah said to the people, I, even I, am the only living prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
王上18:23 现在，请给我们两头公牛。让巴力的先知自己挑选一头，把牠切成块子，放在柴上，但不要点火；我也预备一头公牛，摆在柴上，也不点火。
王上18:23 Now, let them give us two oxen; and let them take one for themselves, and have it cut up, and put it on the wood, but put no fire under it; I will get the other ox ready, and put it on the wood, and put no fire under it.
王上18:24 你们呼求你们神的名，我也呼求耶和华的名。那降火来显示回答的神就是 神了。”众人都回答：“这话说得很好！”
王上18:24 And do you make prayers to your god, and I will make a prayer to the Lord: and it will be clear that the one who gives an answer by fire is God. And all the people in answer said, It is well said.
王上18:25 以利亚对巴力的众先知说：“你们既然人多，可以先为自己选一头公牛；预备好了，就呼求你们神的名，但不要点火。”
王上18:25 Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Take one ox for yourselves and get it ready first, for there are more of you; and make your prayers to your god, but put no fire under.
王上18:26 他们把人给他们的公牛牵了来，预备好了，就从早晨直到中午，呼求巴力的名，说：“巴力啊，应允我们吧！”可是没有声音，也没有响应。他们就在所筑的祭坛周围跳舞。
王上18:26 So they took the ox which was given them, and made it ready, crying out to Baal from morning till the middle of the day, and saying, O Baal, give ear to us. But there was no voice and no answer. And they were jumping up and down before the altar they had made.
王上18:27 到了中午，以利亚嘲笑他们，说：“大声呼求吧，因为他是神，也许他正在默想，或事务繁忙，或正在旅行，或正在睡觉，你们要把他叫醒。”
王上18:27 And in the middle of the day, Elijah made sport of them, saying, Give louder cries, for he is a god; he may be deep in thought, or he may have gone away for some purpose, or he may be on a journey, or by chance he is sleeping and has to be made awake.
王上18:28 他们就大声呼求，按着他们的规矩，用刀和枪刺自己，直到身体流血。
王上18:28 So they gave loud cries, cutting themselves with knives and swords, as was their way, till the blood came streaming out all over them.
王上18:29 中午过后，他们继续狂呼乱叫，直到献晚祭的时候；可是仍没有声音，没有响应，也没有理睬他们的。
王上18:29 And from the middle of the day they went on with their prayers till the time of the offering; but there was no voice, or any answer, or any who gave attention to them.
王上18:30 以利亚对众人说：“你们走近我这里来。”众人就都走近他面前。他重修已经毁坏了的耶和华的祭坛。
王上18:30 Then Elijah said to all the people, Come near to me; and all the people came near. And he put up again the altar of the Lord which had been broken down.
王上18:31 以利亚照着雅各子孙支派的数目，拿了十二块石头。（耶和华的话曾临到雅各说：“你的名要叫以色列。”）
王上18:31 And Elijah took twelve stones, the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the Lord had said, Israel will be your name:
王上18:32 以利亚奉耶和华的名用这些石头筑了一座坛，在坛的四周挖沟，可容十四公升种籽，
王上18:32 And with the stones he made an altar to the name of the Lord; and he made a deep drain all round the altar, great enough to take two measures of seed.
王上18:33 然后把柴排好，又把公牛切成块子，放在柴上，就说：“你们盛满四桶水，倒在燔祭和柴上。”
王上18:33 And he put the wood in order, and, cutting up the ox, put it on the wood. Then he said, Get four vessels full of water and put it on the burned offering and on the wood. And he said, Do it a second time, and they did it a second time;
王上18:34 又说：“倒第二次。”他们就倒第二次；又说：“倒第三次。”他们就倒第三次。
王上18:34 And he said, Do it a third time, and they did it a third time.
王上18:35 水流到祭坛的四周，甚至水沟里也满了水。
王上18:35 And the water went all round the altar, till the drain was full.
王上18:36 到了献晚祭的时候，以利亚先知近前来，说：“亚伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的 神耶和华，求你今天使人知道你是在以色列中的 神，我是你的仆人，又是奉你的命令行这一切事。
王上18:36 Then at the time of the offering, Elijah the prophet came near and said, O Lord, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, let it be seen this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things by your order.
王上18:37 耶和华啊，求你应允我，应允我！使这民知道你耶和华是 神，又知道是你使这民的心再回转过来的。”
王上18:37 Give me an answer, O Lord, give me an answer, so that this people may see that you are God, and that you have made their hearts come back again.
王上18:38 于是有耶和华的火降下来，吞灭了燔祭、木柴、石头和尘土，连沟里的水也烧干了。
王上18:38 Then the fire of the Lord came down, burning up the offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and drinking up the water in the drain.
王上18:39 众人看见了，就面伏于地，说：“耶和华是 神！耶和华是 神！”
王上18:39 And when the people saw it, they all went down on their faces, and said, The Lord, he is God, the Lord, he is God.
王上18:40 以利亚对他们说：“捉住巴力的先知，一个也不要让他们逃脱。”于是众人捉住他们。以利亚带他们下到基顺河边，在那里杀了他们。
王上18:40 And Elijah said to them, Take the prophets of Baal, let not one of them get away. So they took them, and Elijah made them go down to the stream Kishon, and put them to death there.
王上18:41 以利亚对亚哈说：“你上去吃喝吧！因为已经有下大雨的响声了。”
王上18:41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, Up! take food and drink, for there is a sound of much rain.
王上18:42 亚哈就上去吃喝。以利亚上了迦密山顶，屈身在地，把脸放在两膝之间。
王上18:42 So Ahab went up to have food and drink, while Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he went down on the earth, putting his face between his knees.
王上18:43 以利亚对自己的仆人说：“你上去向海那边观看。”他就上去观看，说：“什么也没有。”以利亚说：“你再回去观看。”这样说了七次。
王上18:43 And he said to his servant, Go now, and take a look in the direction of the sea. And he went up, and after looking said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times; and he went seven times.
王上18:44 到第七次，仆人说：“我看到一小片乌云，好像人的手掌那么大，正在从海里升上来。”以利亚说：“你上去告诉亚哈：‘赶快套车下山，免得被大雨所阻。’”
王上18:44 And the seventh time he said, I see a cloud coming up out of the sea, as small as a man's hand. Then he said, Go up and say to Ahab, Get your carriage ready and go down or the rain will keep you back.
王上18:45 霎时之间，天空因风云而变为黑暗，随着降下大雨来。于是亚哈坐上了车，往耶斯列去了。
王上18:45 And after a very little time, the heaven became black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab went in his carriage to Jezreel.
王上18:46 耶和华的能力临到以利亚的身上，以利亚就束上腰，跑在亚哈的前头，直跑到耶斯列的城门口。
王上18:46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he made himself strong, and went running before Ahab till they came to Jezreel.
