代上21:1 撒但起来攻击以色列人，引诱大卫去数点以色列人的数目。
代上21:1 Now Satan, designing evil against Israel, put into David's mind the impulse to take the number of Israel.
代上21:2 于是大卫对约押和民众的领袖说：“你们去数点以色列人，从别是巴直到但，然后回来见我，让我知道他们的数目。”
代上21:2 And David said to Joab and the captains of the people, Now let all Israel, from Beer-sheba to Dan, be numbered; and give me word so that I may be certain of their number.
代上21:3 约押说：“愿耶和华使他的子民比现在增加百倍。我主我王啊，他们不都是我主的仆人吗？我主为什么要作这事呢？为什么使以色列人陷在罪里呢？”
代上21:3 And Joab said, May the Lord make his people a hundred times more in number than they are; but, my lord king, are they not all my lord's servants? why would my lord have this done? why will he become a cause of sin to Israel?
代上21:4 但王坚持他的命令，约押不敢违抗；约押就出去，走遍以色列各地，然后回到耶路撒冷。
代上21:4 But the king's word was stronger than Joab's. So Joab went out and went through all Israel and came to Jerusalem.
代上21:5 约押把数点人民的数目呈报大卫：全以色列能拿刀的人，共有一百一十万；犹大能拿刀的人，共有四十七万。
代上21:5 And Joab gave David the number of all the people; all the men of Israel, able to take up arms, were one million, one hundred thousand men; and those of Judah were four hundred and seventy thousand men, able to take up arms.
代上21:6 唯有利未人和便雅悯人，他没有数点在内，因为约押厌恶王这个命令。
代上21:6 But Levi and Benjamin were not numbered among them, for Joab was disgusted with the king's order.
代上21:7 神不喜悦这事，所以他击打以色列人。
代上21:7 And God was not pleased with this thing; so he sent punishment on Israel.
代上21:8 大卫对 神说：“我犯了重罪，因为我行了这事；现在求你除去你仆人的罪孽，因我作了十分愚昧的事。”
代上21:8 Then David said to God, Great has been my sin in doing this; but now, be pleased to take away the sin of your servant, for I have done very foolishly.
代上21:9 耶和华告诉大卫的先见迦得，说：
代上21:9 Then the word of the Lord came to Gad, David's seer, saying,
代上21:10 “你去告诉大卫，说：‘耶和华这样说：我给你提出三件事，你可以选择一件，我好向你施行。’”
代上21:10 Go and say to David, The Lord says, Three things are offered to you: say which of them you will have, so that I may do it to you.
代上21:11 于是迦得来见大卫，对他说：“耶和华这样说：‘你可以选择：
代上21:11 So Gad came to David and said to him, The Lord says, Take whichever you will:
代上21:12 或是三年的饥荒；或是在你敌人面前逃亡，被你仇敌的刀剑追杀三个月；或是耶和华的刀攻击三天，就是在国中发生瘟疫三日，耶和华的使者在以色列的四境施行毁灭。’现在你考虑一下，我该用什么话回复那差派我来的。”
代上21:12 Three years when there will not be enough food; or three months of war, when you will go in flight before your haters, being in great danger of the sword; or three days of the sword of the Lord, disease in the land, and the angel of the Lord taking destruction through all the land of Israel. Now give thought to the answer I am to take back to him who sent me.
代上21:13 大卫对迦得说：“我十分作难，我情愿落在耶和华的手里，因为他有极丰盛的怜悯，我不愿落在人的手里。”
代上21:13 And David said to Gad, This is a hard decision for me to make: let me come into the hands of the Lord, for great are his mercies: let me not come into the hands of men.
代上21:14 于是耶和华使瘟疫降在以色列人身上；以色列人死了七万人。
代上21:14 So the Lord sent disease on Israel, causing the death of seventy thousand men.
代上21:15 神差派一位使者到耶路撒冷去，要毁灭那城；正要施行毁灭的时候，耶和华看见了，就后悔所要降的这灾，于是对施行毁灭的天使说：“够了！住手吧！”那时，耶和华的使者正站在耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾场附近。
代上21:15 And God sent an angel to Jerusalem for its destruction: and when he was about to do so, the Lord saw, and had regret for the evil, and said to the angel of destruction, It is enough; do no more. Now the angel of the Lord was by the grain-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
代上21:16 大卫举目看见耶和华的使者站在天地中间，手里拿着出了鞘的刀，指向耶路撒冷。大卫和众长老都穿上麻布，脸伏于地。
代上21:16 And David, lifting up his eyes, saw the angel of the Lord there between earth and heaven, with an uncovered sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the responsible men, clothed in haircloth, went down on their faces.
代上21:17 大卫对 神说：“吩咐统计这人民的不是我吗？是我犯了罪，行了这大恶；但这羊群作了什么呢？耶和华我的 神啊，愿你的手攻击我和我的家族，不可把瘟疫降在你子民的身上。”
代上21:17 And David said to God, Was it not I who gave the order for the people to be numbered? It is I who have done the sin and the great wrong; but these are only sheep; what have they done? let your hand, O Lord God, be lifted up against me and against my family, but not against your people to send disease on them.
代上21:18 耶和华的使者吩咐迦得去告诉大卫，叫他上去，在耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾场上，为耶和华筑一座祭坛。
代上21:18 Then the angel of the Lord gave orders to Gad to say to David that he was to go and put up an altar to the Lord on the grain-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
代上21:19 大卫就照着迦得奉耶和华的名所说的话上去了。
代上21:19 And David went up, as Gad had said in the name of the Lord.
代上21:20 那时阿珥楠正在打麦子；阿珥楠转过身来看见了天使，就和他的四个儿子一起躲藏起来。
代上21:20 And Ornan, turning back, saw the angel, and his four sons who were with him went to a secret place. Now Ornan was crushing his grain.
代上21:21 大卫来到阿珥楠那里，阿珥楠看见大卫，就从禾场上出来，脸伏于地，向大卫下拜。
代上21:21 And when David came, Ornan, looking, saw him, and came out from the grain-floor and went down on his face to the earth before him.
代上21:22 大卫对阿珥楠说：“请把这块禾场的地让给我，我要在这里为耶和华筑一座祭坛，请你算足价银让给我，使民间的瘟疫可以止息。”
代上21:22 Then David said to Ornan, Give me the place where this grain-floor is, so that I may put up an altar here to the Lord: let me have it for its full price; so that this disease may be stopped among the people.
代上21:23 阿珥楠对大卫说：“只管拿去吧，我主我王看怎样好就怎样行吧；你看，我把牛给你作燔祭，把打禾的用具当柴烧，拿麦子作素祭；这一切我都送给你。”
代上21:23 And Ornan said to David, Take it, and let my lord the king do what seems right to him. See, I give you the oxen for burned offerings and the grain-cleaning instruments for fire-wood, and the grain for the meal offering; I give it all.
代上21:24 大卫王对阿珥楠说：“不，我必照足价银向你买；我不能拿你的东西献给耶和华，也不能把没有付代价的东西献上作燔祭。”
代上21:24 And King David said to Ornan, No; I will certainly give you the full price for it, because I will not take for the Lord what is yours, or give a burned offering without payment.
代上21:25 于是大卫称了六千八百四十克金子给阿珥楠，买了那块地。
代上21:25 So David gave Ornan six hundred shekels of gold by weight for the place.
代上21:26 大卫在那里为耶和华筑了一座祭坛，献上燔祭和平安祭；他呼求耶和华，耶和华就应允他，从天上降火在燔祭坛上。
代上21:26 And David put up an altar there to the Lord, offering burned offerings and peace-offerings with prayers to the Lord; and he gave him an answer from heaven, sending fire on the altar of burned offering.
代上21:27 耶和华吩咐使者，他就收刀入鞘。
代上21:27 Then the Lord gave orders to the angel, and he put back his sword into its cover.
代上21:28 那时，大卫见耶和华在耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾场上应允了他，就在那里献祭。
代上21:28 At that time, when David saw that the Lord had given him an answer on the grain-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he made an offering there.
代上21:29 摩西在旷野所做耶和华的帐幕和燔祭坛，那时都在基遍的高地，
代上21:29 For the House of the Lord, which Moses had made in the waste land, and the altar of burned offerings, were at that time in the high place at Gibeon.
代上21:30 只是大卫不敢上去求问 神，因为惧怕耶和华使者的刀。 [ (I Chronicles
代上21:30 But David was not able to go before it to get directions from the Lord, so great was his fear of the sword of the angel of the Lord.

代上21:31 Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar for Israel's burned offerings.
