约3:1 有一个法利赛人，名叫尼哥德慕，是犹太人的官长。
约3:1 Now there was among the Pharisees a man named Nicodemus, who was one of the rulers of the Jews.
约3:2 他夜间来到耶稣那里，对他说：“拉比，我们知道你是从 神那里来的教师，因为如果没有 神同在，你所行的这些神迹，就没有人能行。”
约3:2 He came to Jesus by night and said to him, Rabbi, we are certain that you have come from God as a teacher, because no man would be able to do these signs which you do if God was not with him.
约3:3 耶稣回答：“我实实在在告诉你，人若不重生，就不能见 神的国。”
约3:3 Jesus said to him, Truly, I say to you, Without a new birth no man is able to see the kingdom of God.
约3:4 尼哥德慕说：“人老了，怎能重生呢？难道他能再进母腹生出来吗？”
约3:4 Nicodemus said to him, How is it possible for a man to be given birth when he is old? Is he able to go into his mother's body a second time and come to birth again?
约3:5 耶稣回答：“我实实在在告诉你，人若不是从水和圣灵生的，就不能进 神的国。
约3:5 Jesus said in answer, Truly, I say to you, If a man's birth is not from water and from the Spirit, it is not possible for him to go into the kingdom of God.
约3:6 从肉身生的就是肉身，从灵生的就是灵。
约3:6 That which has birth from the flesh is flesh, and that which has birth from the Spirit is spirit.
约3:7 你不要因为我对你说‘你们必须重生’而感到希奇。
约3:7 Do not be surprised that I say to you, It is necessary for you to have a second birth.
约3:8 风随意而吹，你听见它的响声，却不知道它从哪里来，往哪里去；凡从圣灵生的，也是这样。”
约3:8 The wind goes where its pleasure takes it, and the sound of it comes to your ears, but you are unable to say where it comes from and where it goes: so it is with everyone whose birth is from the Spirit.
约3:9 尼哥德慕说：“怎能有这事呢？”
约3:9 And Nicodemus said to him, How is it possible for these things to be?
约3:10 耶稣说：“你是以色列人的教师，还不明白这事吗？
约3:10 And Jesus, answering, said, Are you the teacher of Israel and have no knowledge of these things?
约3:11 我实实在在告诉你，我们知道的，才讲论；见过的，就作证，然而你们却不接受我们的见证。
约3:11 Truly, I say to you, We say that of which we have knowledge; we give witness of what we have seen; and you do not take our witness to be true.
约3:12 我对你们讲地上的事，你们尚且不信，如果讲天上的事，怎能相信呢？
约3:12 If you have no belief when my words are about the things of earth, how will you have belief if my words are about the things of heaven?
约3:13 除了那从天上降下来的人子（有些抄本作“除了那从天上降下来仍旧在天上的人子”），没有人升过天。
约3:13 And no one has ever gone up to heaven but he who came down from heaven, the Son of man.
约3:14 摩西在旷野怎样把铜蛇举起，人子也必照样被举起来，
约3:14 As the snake was lifted up by Moses in the waste land, even so it is necessary for the Son of man to be lifted up:
约3:15 使所有信他的人都得永生。
约3:15 So that whoever has faith may have in him eternal life.
约3:16 “ 神爱世人，甚至把他的独生子赐给他们，叫一切信他的，不至灭亡，反得永生。
约3:16 For God had such love for the world that he gave his only Son, so that whoever has faith in him may not come to destruction but have eternal life.
约3:17 因为 神差他的儿子到世上来，不是要定世人的罪，而是要使世人借着他得救。
约3:17 God did not send his Son into the world to be judge of the world; he sent him so that the world might have salvation through him.
约3:18 信他的，不被定罪；不信的，罪已经定了，因为他不信 神独生子的名。
约3:18 The man who has faith in him does not come up to be judged; but he who has no faith in him has been judged even now, because he has no faith in the name of the only Son of God.
约3:19 光来到世上，世人因为自己的行为邪恶，不爱光倒爱黑暗，定他们罪的原因，就在这里。
约3:19 And this is the test by which men are judged: the light has come into the world and men have more love for the dark than for the light, because their acts are evil.
约3:20 凡作恶的都恨光，不来接近光，免得他的恶行暴露出来。
约3:20 The light is hated by everyone whose acts are evil and he does not come to the light for fear that his acts will be seen.
约3:21 凡行真理的，就来接近光，好显明他所作的都是靠着 神而作的。”
约3:21 But he whose life is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his acts have been done by the help of God.
约3:22 他必兴旺，我必衰微这事以后，耶稣和门徒来到犹太地，他和他们住在那里，并且施洗。
约3:22 After these things Jesus and his disciples went into the land of Judaea, and there he was with them for some time, giving baptism.
约3:23 约翰也在靠近撒冷的艾嫩施洗，因为那里水多；众人都去受洗。
约3:23 Now John was then giving baptism at Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and people came and were given baptism.
约3:24 那时约翰还没有入狱。
约3:24 For at this time John had not been put into prison.
约3:25 约翰的门徒和一个犹太人为洁净礼发生辩论。
约3:25 Then a question came up between John's disciples and a Jew about washing.
约3:26 他们来到约翰那里，对他说：“拉比，你看，从前和你在约旦河东，你为他作见证的那一位，他也在施洗，众人都到他那里去了。”
约3:26 And they went to John and said to him, Rabbi, the man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan, the man to whom you gave witness, is now giving baptism, and everyone is going to him.
约3:27 约翰回答：“除了从天上赐下来给他的，人就不能得到什么。
约3:27 And this was John's answer: A man is unable to have anything if it is not given to him from heaven.
约3:28 你们自己可以为我作证：我曾说，我不是基督，不过是奉差遣作他的先锋的。
约3:28 You yourselves give witness that I said, I am not the Christ. What I said was, I am sent before the Christ.
约3:29 娶新娘的是新郎。新郎的好友站在那里听着，听见新郎的声音就非常喜乐。因此，我这喜乐满溢了！
约3:29 He who has the bride is the husband: but the husband's friend, whose place is by his side and whose ears are open to him, is full of joy because of the husband's voice: such is my joy, and it is complete.
约3:30 他必兴旺，我必衰微。
约3:30 He has to become greater while I become less.
约3:31 “那从天上来的，是在万有之上；从地上来的，是属于地，所讲的也是属于地。那从天上来的，是超越万有之上。
约3:31 He who comes from heaven is greater than all others: he who comes from earth is of the earth, and of the earth are his words: he who comes from heaven is over all.
约3:32 他把所见所闻的见证出来，可是没有人接受他的见证。
约3:32 He gives witness of what he has seen and of what has come to his ears; and no man takes his witness as true.
约3:33 那接受他的见证的，就确认 神是真的。
约3:33 He who so takes his witness has made clear his faith that God is true.
约3:34 神所差来的那一位讲 神的话，因为 神把圣灵无限地赐给他。
约3:34 For he whom God has sent says God's words; and God does not give him the Spirit by measure.
约3:35 父爱子，已经把万有交在他手里。
约3:35 The Father has love for the Son and has put all things into his hands.
约3:36 信子的，有永生；不信从子的，必不得见永生， 神的震怒却常在他身上。”
约3:36 He who has faith in the Son has eternal life; but he who has not faith in the Son will not see life; God's wrath is resting on him.
