约18:1 耶稣说完了这些话，就和门徒出去，过了汲沦溪。在那里有一个园子，耶稣和门徒进去了。
约18:1 When Jesus had said these words he went out with his disciples over the stream Kedron to a garden, into which he went with his disciples.
约18:2 出卖耶稣的犹大也知道那地方，因为耶稣和门徒常常在那里聚集。
约18:2 And Judas, who was false to him, had knowledge of the place because Jesus went there frequently with his disciples.
约18:3 那时，犹大带着一队兵，还有祭司长和法利赛人的差役，拿着灯笼、火把、武器，来到园子里。
约18:3 So Judas, getting a band of armed men and police from the chief priests and Pharisees, went there with lights and with arms.
约18:4 耶稣知道快要临到他身上的一切事，就出来对他们说：“你们找谁？”
约18:4 Then Jesus, having knowledge of everything which was coming on him, went forward and said to them, Who are you looking for?
约18:5 他们回答：“拿撒勒人耶稣！”耶稣说：“我就是。”出卖耶稣的犹大和他们站在那里。
约18:5 Their answer was, Jesus the Nazarene. Jesus said, I am he. And Judas, who was false to him, was there at their side.
约18:6 耶稣一说“我就是”，他们就往后退，倒在地上。
约18:6 And when he said to them, I am he, they went back, falling to the earth.
约18:7 他再问他们：“你们找谁？”他们说：“拿撒勒人耶稣！”
约18:7 So again he put the question to them, Who are you looking for? And they said, Jesus the Nazarene.
约18:8 耶稣回答：“我已经告诉你们，我就是了。如果你们来找我，就让这些人走吧。”
约18:8 Jesus made answer, I have said that I am he; if you are looking for me, let these men go away.
约18:9 这应验了耶稣说过的话：“你赐给我的人，我一个也没有失落。”
约18:9 (He said this so that his words might come true, I have kept safe all those whom you gave to me.)
约18:10 西门．彼得带着一把刀，就拔出来，向大祭司的仆人马勒古砍去，削掉他的右耳。
约18:10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, took it out and gave the high priest's servant a blow, cutting off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
约18:11 耶稣对彼得说：“把刀收入鞘里去！父给我的杯，我怎能不喝呢？”
约18:11 Then Jesus said to Peter, Put back your sword: am I not to take the cup which my Father has given to me?
约18:12 于是那一队兵和千夫长，以及犹太人的差役拿住耶稣，把他绑起来，
约18:12 Then the band and the chief captain and the police took Jesus and put cords round him.
约18:13 先带到亚那面前。亚那是当年的大祭司该亚法的岳父。
约18:13 They took him first to Annas, because Annas was the father-in-law of Caiaphas who was the high priest that year.
约18:14 该亚法就是从前向犹太人提议说“一个人代替人民死，这是有益的”那个人。
约18:14 It was Caiaphas who had said to the Jews that it was in their interest for one man to be put to death for the people.
约18:15 西门．彼得和另一个门徒跟着耶稣；那门徒是大祭司认识的。他跟耶稣一起进了大祭司的院子，
约18:15 And Simon Peter went after Jesus with another disciple. Now that disciple was a friend of the high priest and he went in with Jesus into the house of the high priest;
约18:16 彼得却站在门外。大祭司所认识的那门徒出来，对看门的婢女说了一声，就带了彼得进去。
约18:16 But Peter was kept outside at the door. Then this other disciple, who was a friend of the high priest, came out and had a word with the girl who kept the door, and took Peter in.
约18:17 那看门的婢女对彼得说：“你不也是这个人的门徒吗？”他说：“我不是。”
约18:17 Then the girl who was the door-keeper said to Peter, Are you not one of this man's disciples? In answer he said, I am not.
约18:18 因为天气寒冷，仆人和差役就生了炭火，站着取暖；彼得也和他们站在一起取暖。
约18:18 Now the servants and the police had made a fire of coals because it was cold; they were warming themselves in front of it and Peter was there with them, warming himself.
约18:19 那时，大祭司查问耶稣有关他的门徒和他的教训的事。
约18:19 Then the high priest put questions to Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.
约18:20 耶稣对大祭司说：“我向来对世人讲话都是公开的，我常常在会堂和圣殿里，就是在所有犹太人聚集的地方教导人，暗地里我并没有讲什么。
约18:20 Jesus made answer, I said things openly to the world at all times; I have given my teaching in the Synagogues and in the Temple to which all the Jews come; and I have said nothing secretly.
约18:21 你为什么查问我呢？问问那些听过我讲话的人吧，他们知道我讲过什么。”
约18:21 Why are you questioning me? put questions to my hearers about what I have said to them: they have knowledge of what I said.
约18:22 耶稣说了这些话，站在旁边的一个差役，就打他一巴掌，说：“你竟敢这样回答大祭司吗？”
约18:22 When he said this, one of the police by his side gave him a blow with his open hand, saying, Do you give such an answer to the high priest?
约18:23 耶稣对他说：“如果我讲错了，你可以指证错在哪里；如果我讲对了，你为什么打我呢？”
约18:23 Jesus said in answer, If I have said anything evil, give witness to the evil: but if I said what is true, why do you give me blows?
约18:24 亚那仍然绑着耶稣，把他押到大祭司该亚法那里去。
约18:24 Then Annas sent him chained to Caiaphas, the high priest.
约18:25 西门．彼得仍然站在火旁取暖。有人对他说：“你不也是他的门徒吗？”彼得否认说：“我不是。”
约18:25 But Simon Peter was still there warming himself by the fire. They said to him, Are you not one of his disciples? He said, No, I am not.
约18:26 有一个大祭司的仆人，就是彼得削掉耳朵的那个人的亲戚，说：“我不是看见你跟他在园子里吗？”
约18:26 One of the servants of the high priest, a relation of him whose ear had been cut off by Peter, said, Did I not see you with him in the garden?
约18:27 彼得又否认，立刻鸡就叫了。
约18:27 Then again Peter said, No. And straight away a cock gave its cry.
约18:28 清早的时候，犹太人把耶稣从该亚法那里押往总督的官邸。他们自己没有进到官邸里去，恐怕沾染了污秽，不能吃逾越节的晚餐。
约18:28 So they took Jesus from the house of Caiaphas to the Praetorium. It was early. They themselves did not go into the Praetorium, so that they might not become unclean, but might take the Passover.
约18:29 于是彼拉多走到外面见他们，说：“你们控告这个人什么呢？”
约18:29 So Pilate came out to them and put the question: What have you to say against this man?
约18:30 他们回答：“如果这个人没有作恶，我们就不会把他交给你。”
约18:30 They said to him in answer, If the man was not a wrongdoer we would not have given him up to you.
约18:31 彼拉多对他们说：“你们自己把他带去，按着你们的律法审问他吧。”犹太人说：“我们没有权去判人死罪。”
约18:31 Then Pilate said to them, Take him yourselves and let him be judged by your law. But the Jews said to him, We have no right to put any man to death.
约18:32 这就应验了耶稣预先说到自己将要怎样死的那句话。
约18:32 (That the word of Jesus might come true, pointing to the sort of death he would have.)
约18:33 彼拉多又进了官邸，把耶稣叫来，问他说：“你是犹太人的王吗？”
约18:33 Then Pilate went back into the Praetorium and sent for Jesus and said to him, Are you the King of the Jews?
约18:34 耶稣回答：“这话是你自己说的，还是别人对你说到我的呢？”
约18:34 Jesus made answer, Do you say this of yourself, or did others say it about me?
约18:35 彼拉多说：“难道我是犹太人吗？你本国的人和祭司长把你交给我，你究竟作了什么事？”
约18:35 Pilate said, Am I a Jew? Your nation and the chief priests have given you into my hands: what have you done?
约18:36 耶稣回答：“我的国不属于这世界；如果我的国属于这世界，我的臣仆就要作战，使我不至被交给犹太人。不过，我的国不是这世上的。”
约18:36 Jesus said in answer, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom was of this world, my disciples would have made a good fight to keep me out of the hands of the Jews: but my kingdom is not here.
约18:37 于是彼拉多问他：“那么，你是王吗？”耶稣说：“我是王，这是你说的。我要为真理作见证，我为此而生，也为此来到世上。凡是属于真理的人，都听我的声音。”
约18:37 Then Pilate said to him, Are you then a king? Jesus made answer, You say that I am a king. For this purpose was I given birth, and for this purpose I came into the world, that I might give witness to what is true. Every lover of what is true gives ear to my voice.
约18:38 彼拉多问他：“真理是什么？”彼拉多说了这话，又出来见犹太人，对他们说：“我查不出他有什么罪。
约18:38 Pilate said to him, True? what is true? Having said this he went out again to the Jews and said to them, I see no wrong in him.
约18:39 “你们有个惯例，每逢逾越节，要我给你们释放一个囚犯。你们愿意我给你们释放这个犹太人的王吗？”
约18:39 But every year you make a request to me to let a prisoner go free at the Passover. Is it your desire that I let the King of the Jews go free?
约18:40 他们又喊叫说：“不要他！要巴拉巴！”这巴拉巴是个强盗。
约18:40 Then again they gave a loud cry, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was an outlaw.
