耶21:1 耶和华有话临到耶利米。那时，西底家王差遣玛基雅的儿子巴施户珥，和玛西雅的儿子西番雅祭司去见耶利米，说：
耶21:1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur, the son of Malchiah, and Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,
耶21:2 “请你替我们求问耶和华，因为巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒来攻击我们；也许耶和华会为我们行奇事，使尼布甲尼撒离开我们回去。”
耶21:2 Will you get directions from the Lord for us; for Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, is making war against us; it may be that the Lord will do something for us like all the wonders he has done, and make him go away from us.
耶21:3 耶利米就对他们说：“你们要对西底家这样说：
耶21:3 Then Jeremiah said to them, This is what you are to say to Zedekiah:
耶21:4 ‘耶和华以色列的 神这样说：看哪！我必使你们手中的武器，就是你们用来与城外围困你们的巴比伦王和迦勒底人作战的武器，转回堆积在这城的中心。
耶21:4 The Lord God of Israel has said, See, I am turning back the instruments of war in your hands, with which you are fighting against the king of Babylon and the Chaldaeans, who are outside the walls and shutting you in; and I will get them together inside this town.
耶21:5 我必在怒气、烈怒和忿怒中，用伸出来的手和强有力的膀臂，亲自攻击你们。
耶21:5 And I myself will be fighting against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even with angry feeling and passion and in great wrath.
耶21:6 我要击打住在这城的人和牲畜，他们都要因极大的瘟疫而死。
耶21:6 And I will send a great disease on the people living in this town, on man and on beast, causing their death.
耶21:7 然后，我必把犹大王西底家和他的臣民，就是在这城里经过瘟疫、刀剑之灾和饥荒而幸存的人，都交在巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒和他们的仇敌，以及寻索他们性命的人的手中。尼布甲尼撒要用刀剑击杀他们，绝不顾惜，不留情，不怜悯。’”这是耶和华的宣告。
耶21:7 And after that, says the Lord, I will give up Zedekiah, king of Judah, and his servants and his people, even those in the town who have not come to their end from the disease and the sword and from need of food, into the hands of Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon, and into the hands of their haters, and into the hands of those desiring their death: he will put them to the sword; he will not let anyone get away, he will have no pity or mercy.
耶21:8 耶和华又吩咐耶利米：“你要对这人民说：‘耶和华这样说：看哪！我把生命的路和死亡的路摆在你们面前。
耶21:8 And to this people you are to say, The Lord has said, See, I put before you the way of life and the way of death.
耶21:9 凡留在这城里的，必因刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫而死；但出去向围困你们的迦勒底人投降的，必可以活着，捡回自己的性命。
耶21:9 He who keeps in this town will come to his death by the sword and through need of food and through disease; but he who goes out and gives himself up to the Chaldaeans who are shutting you in, will go on living, and will keep his life safe.
耶21:10 因为我已经决意向这城降祸不降福；这城必交在巴比伦王的手中，他必放火把城烧毁。’”这是耶和华的宣告。
耶21:10 For my face is turned to this town for evil and not for good, says the Lord: it will be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he will have it burned with fire.
耶21:11 “你要对犹大王室说：‘你们要听耶和华的话。
耶21:11 About the family of the king of Judah. Give ear to the word of the Lord;
耶21:12 大卫家啊！耶和华这样说：你们每早晨应秉公审判，解救被抢夺的脱离欺压者的手；免得我的烈怒因你们（“你们”有古抄本作“他们”）的恶行发作，如火焚烧，无人能熄灭。
耶21:12 O family of David, this is what the Lord has said: Do what is right in the morning, and make free from the hands of the cruel one him whose goods have been violently taken away, or my wrath will go out like fire, burning so that no one may put it out, because of the evil of your doings.
耶21:13 看哪！在山谷上、在岩石平原上的耶路撒冷啊！我要攻击你。’这是耶和华的宣告。‘你们说：谁能下来攻击我们，谁能进入我们的住处呢？
耶21:13 See, I am against you, you who are living on the rock of the valley, says the Lord; you who say, Who will come down against us? or who will get into our houses?
耶21:14 我必照着你们所作的事应得的结果惩罚你们；我要在耶路撒冷的树林中放火，吞灭她四围的一切。’”这是耶和华的宣告。
耶21:14 I will send punishment on you in keeping with the fruit of your doings, says the Lord: and I will put a fire in her woodlands, burning up everything round about her.
