耶26:1 犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬开始执政的时候，有这话从耶和华那里临到耶利米，说：
耶26:1 When Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, first became king, this word came from the Lord, saying,
耶26:2 “耶和华这样说：‘你要站在耶和华殿的院子里，对来自犹大各城，到耶和华殿敬拜的人，把我吩咐你对他们说的一切话，一字不漏告诉他们。
耶26:2 This is what the Lord has said: Take your place in the open square of the Lord's house and say to all the towns of Judah, who come into the Lord's house for worship, everything I give you orders to say to them: keep back not a word;
耶26:3 或者他们肯听从，各人转离自己的恶道，我就回心转意，不把我因为他们的恶行原想要施行的灾祸，降给他们。
耶26:3 It may be that they will give ear, and that every man will be turned from his evil way, so that my purpose of sending evil on them because of the evil of their doings may be changed.
耶26:4 你要对他们说：耶和华这样说：如果你们不听从我，不遵行我设立在你们面前的律法，
耶26:4 And you are to say to them, This is what the Lord has said: If you do not give ear to me and go in the way of my law which I have put before you,
耶26:5 不听从我差遣到你们那里去的我的仆人众先知的话（我不断差遣他们，但你们一直都不听从），
耶26:5 And give ear to the words of my servants the prophets whom I send to you, getting up early and sending them, though you gave no attention;
耶26:6 我就必使这殿像示罗一样，使这城成为地上列国咒诅的对象。’”
耶26:6 Then I will make this house like Shiloh, and will make this town a curse to all the nations of the earth.
耶26:7 耶利米在耶和华殿里所说的这些话，众祭司、众先知和众民都听见了。
耶26:7 And in the hearing of the priests and the prophets and all the people, Jeremiah said these words in the house of the Lord.
耶26:8 耶利米说完了耶和华吩咐他对众民所说的一切话，众祭司、众先知和众民就抓住他，说：“你必要死！
耶26:8 Now, when Jeremiah had come to the end of saying everything the Lord had given him orders to say to all the people, the priests and the prophets and all the people took him by force, saying, Death will certainly be your fate.
耶26:9 你为什么奉耶和华的名预言，说：‘这殿必像示罗一样，这城必变为荒场，没有人居住呢？’”于是众民在耶和华的殿里集合到耶利米那里。
耶26:9 Why have you said in the name of the Lord, This house will be like Shiloh, and this land a waste with no one living in it? And all the people had come together to Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.
耶26:10 犹大的领袖听见了这些事，就从王宫上到耶和华的殿，坐在耶和华殿里新门的入口。
耶26:10 And the rulers of Judah, hearing of these things, came up from the king's house to the house of the Lord, and took their seats by the new door of the Lord's house.
耶26:11 祭司和先知对领袖和众民说：“这人应该处死，因为他说预言攻击这城，正如你们亲耳听见的。”
耶26:11 Then the priests and the prophets said to the rulers and to all the people, The right fate for this man is death; for he has said words against this town in your hearing.
耶26:12 耶利米对众领袖和众民说：“耶和华差遣我预言你们所听见，一切攻击这殿和这城的话。
耶26:12 Then Jeremiah said to all the rulers and to all the people, The Lord has sent me as his prophet to say against this house and against this town all the words which have come to your ears.
耶26:13 现在，你们要改善你们所行所作的，听从耶和华你们的 神的话，耶和华就必回心转意，不把所说的灾祸降给你们。
耶26:13 So now, make a change for the better in your ways and your doings, and give ear to the voice of the Lord your God; then the Lord will let himself be turned from the decision he has made against you for evil.
耶26:14 至于我，我在你们手中；你们看怎样好，怎样对，就怎样待我吧！
耶26:14 As for me, here I am in your hands: do with me whatever seems good and right in your opinion.
耶26:15 不过你们要确实知道，如果你们杀死我，就必使无辜的人的血归到你们和这城，以及这城的居民头上，因为耶和华实在差遣了我到你们中间，把这一切话传到你们耳中。”
耶26:15 Only be certain that, if you put me to death, you will make yourselves and your town and its people responsible for the blood of one who has done no wrong: for truly, the Lord has sent me to you to say all these words in your ears.
耶26:16 于是众领袖和众民对祭司和先知说：“这人不应该处死，因为他奉耶和华我们 神的名对我们说话。”
耶26:16 Then the rulers and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, It is not right for this man to be put to death: for he has said words to us in the name of the Lord our God.
耶26:17 那地的长老中有几个人起来，对集合在场的全体人民说：
耶26:17 Then some of the responsible men of the land got up and said to all the meeting of the people,
耶26:18 “在犹大王希西家的日子，摩利沙人弥迦对犹大的众民说预言：‘万军之耶和华这样说：锡安要像田地被耕犁，耶路撒冷必成为废墟，这殿的山必变为杂树丛生的高冈。’
耶26:18 Micah the Morashtite, who was a prophet in the days of Hezekiah, king of Judah, said to all the people of Judah, This is what the Lord of armies has said: Zion will become like a ploughed field, and Jerusalem will become a mass of broken walls, and the mountain of the house like the high places of the woodland.
耶26:19 犹大王希西家和犹大众人可曾把他处死呢？希西家不是敬畏耶和华，求他开恩，以致耶和华回心转意，没有把他所说的灾祸降在他们身上吗？但我们现在竟自招大祸。”
耶26:19 Did Hezekiah and all Judah put him to death? did he not in the fear of the Lord make prayer for the grace of the Lord, and the Lord let himself be turned from the decision he had made against them for evil? By this act we might do great evil against ourselves.
耶26:20 曾有一个人，就是基列．耶琳人示玛雅的儿子乌利亚，他奉耶和华的名说预言，攻击这城和这地，他的预言和耶利米所说的一样。
耶26:20 And there was another man who was a prophet of the Lord, Uriah, the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath-jearim; he said against this town and against this land all the words which Jeremiah had said:
耶26:21 约雅敬王和他所有的勇士，以及犹大的众领袖听见了乌利亚的话，王就想要杀他。乌利亚听见了，就惧怕，就逃往埃及去。
耶26:21 And when his words came to the ears of Jehoiakim the king and all his men of war and his captains, the king would have put him to death; but Uriah, hearing of it, was full of fear and went in flight into Egypt:
耶26:22 约雅敬王打发人到埃及去，就是派亚革波的儿子以利拿单和一些人同到埃及去。
耶26:22 And Jehoiakim the king sent Elnathan, the son of Achbor, and certain men with him, into Egypt.
耶26:23 他们就把乌利亚从埃及带出来，送到约雅敬王那里。王用刀杀死他，把他的尸体抛在平民的坟地里。
耶26:23 And they took Uriah out of Egypt and came back with him to Jehoiakim the king; who put him to death with the sword, and had his dead body put into the resting-place of the bodies of the common people.
耶26:24 然而沙番的儿子亚希甘却保护耶利米，不许人把耶利米交在人民的手中处死。
耶26:24 But Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, gave Jeremiah his help, so that he was not given into the hands of the people to be put to death.
