太4:1 随后，耶稣被圣灵带到旷野，受魔鬼的试探。
太4:1 Then Jesus was sent by the Spirit into the waste land to be tested by the Evil One.
太4:2 耶稣禁食了四十昼夜，就饿了，
太4:2 And after going without food for forty days and forty nights, he was in need of it.
太4:3 试探者前来对他说：“你若是 神的儿子，就吩咐这些石头变成食物吧！”
太4:3 And the Evil One came and said to him, If you are the Son of God, give the word for these stones to become bread.
太4:4 耶稣回答：“经上记着：‘人活着，不是单靠食物，更要靠 神口里所出的一切话。’”
太4:4 But he made answer and said, It is in the Writings, Bread is not man's only need, but every word which comes out of the mouth of God.
太4:5 随后，魔鬼带耶稣进了圣城，使他站在殿顶上，
太4:5 Then the Evil One took him to the holy town; and he put him on the highest point of the Temple and said to him,
太4:6 对他说：“你若是 神的儿子，就跳下去吧！因为经上记着：‘ 神为了你，会吩咐自己的使者用手托住你，免得你的脚碰到石头。’”
太4:6 If you are the Son of God, let yourself go down; for it is in the Writings, He will give his angels care over you; and, In their hands they will keep you up, so that your foot may not be crushed against a stone.
太4:7 耶稣对他说：“经上又记着：‘不可试探主你的 神。’”
太4:7 Jesus said to him, Again it is in the Writings, You may not put the Lord your God to the test.
太4:8 最后，魔鬼带耶稣上了一座极高的山，把世界各国和各国的荣华都指给他看。
太4:8 Again, the Evil One took him up to a very high mountain, and let him see all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them;
太4:9 并且对他说：“你只要跪下来拜我，我就把这一切都给你。”
太4:9 And he said to him, All these things will I give you, if you will go down on your face and give me worship.
太4:10 但耶稣说：“撒但，走开！经上记着：‘当拜主你的 神，单要事奉他。’”
太4:10 Then said Jesus to him, Away, Satan: for it is in the Writings, Give worship to the Lord your God and be his servant only.
太4:11 于是魔鬼离开了耶稣，有天使前来服事他。
太4:11 Then the Evil One went away from him, and angels came and took care of him.
太4:12 耶稣听见约翰被捕，就往加利利去。
太4:12 Now when it came to his ears that John had been put in prison, he went away to Galilee;
太4:13 他又离开拿撒勒，往西布伦和拿弗他利境内近海的迦百农去，住在那里，
太4:13 And going away from Nazareth, he came and made his living-place in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the country of Zebulun and Naphtali:
太4:14 为了要应验以赛亚先知所说的：
太4:14 So that the word of the prophet Isaiah might come true,
太4:15 “西布伦地、拿弗他利地，沿海之路，约旦河外，外族人的加利利啊！
太4:15 The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles,
太4:16 住在黑暗中的人民，看见了大光；死亡幽暗之地的居民，有光照亮他们。”
太4:16 The people who were in the dark saw a great light, and to those in the land of the shade of death did the dawn come up.
太4:17 从那时起，耶稣就开始传道，说：“天国近了，你们应当悔改。”
太4:17 From that time Jesus went about preaching and saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin, for the kingdom of heaven is near.
太4:18 耶稣在加利利海边行走的时候，看见兄弟二人，就是名叫彼得的西门和他的弟弟安得烈，正在把网撒到海里去；他们是渔夫。
太4:18 And when he was walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, whose other name was Peter, and Andrew, his brother, who were putting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.
太4:19 耶稣就对他们说：“来跟从我，我要使你们作得人的渔夫。”
太4:19 And he said to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
太4:20 他们立刻撇下网，跟从了他。
太4:20 And straight away they let go the nets and went after him.
太4:21 耶稣又往前走，看见另一对兄弟，就是西庇太的儿子雅各和约翰，正和父亲西庇太在船上整理鱼网，他就呼召他们。
太4:21 And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, in the boat with their father, stitching up their nets; and he said, Come.
太4:22 他们立刻离了船，别了父亲，跟从了耶稣。
太4:22 And they went straight from the boat and their father and came after him.
太4:23 耶稣走遍加利利，在各会堂里教导人，宣扬天国的福音，医治民间各种疾病、各种病症。
太4:23 And Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their Synagogues and preaching the good news of the kingdom, and making well those who were ill with any disease among the people.
太4:24 他的名声传遍了叙利亚全地，人们就把一切患病的，就是患各种疾病、疼痛、鬼附、癫痫、瘫痪的，都带到他面前，他就医好他们。
太4:24 And news of him went out through all Syria; and they took to him all who were ill with different diseases and pains, those having evil spirits and those who were off their heads, and those who had no power of moving. And he made them well.
太4:25 于是有许多人从加利利、低加波利、耶路撒冷、犹太和约旦河东来跟从耶稣。
太4:25 And there went after him great numbers from Galilee and Decapolis and Jerusalem and Judaea and from the other side of Jordan.
