太23:1 那时，耶稣对群众和他的门徒说：
太23:1 Then Jesus said to the people and to his disciples:
太23:2 “经学家和法利赛人坐在摩西的座位上，
太23:2 The scribes and the Pharisees have the authority of Moses;
太23:3 所以凡他们吩咐你们的，你们都要遵守，但不可效法他们的行为，因为他们只会说而不去作。
太23:3 All things, then, which they give you orders to do, these do and keep: but do not take their works as your example, for they say and do not.
太23:4 他们把重担捆起来，压在人的肩头上，但自己连一个指头也不肯动。
太23:4 They make hard laws and put great weights on men's backs; but they themselves will not put a finger to them.
太23:5 他们所作的一切，都是要作给人看：他们把经文的匣子做大了，衣服的繸子做长了；
太23:5 But all their works they do so as to be seen by men: for they make wide their phylacteries, and the edges of their robes,
太23:6 他们喜欢筵席上的首位、会堂里的高位；
太23:6 And the things desired by them are the first places at feasts, and the chief seats in the Synagogues,
太23:7 又喜欢人在市中心向他们问安，称呼他们‘拉比’。
太23:7 And words of respect in the market-places, and to be named by men, Teacher.
太23:8 然而你们不要被人称为‘拉比’，因为只有一位是你们的老师，你们都是弟兄。
太23:8 But you may not be named Teacher: for one is your teacher, and you are all brothers.
太23:9 不要称呼地上的人为父，因为只有一位是你们的父，就是天父。
太23:9 And give no man the name of father on earth: because one is your Father, who is in heaven.
太23:10 你们也不要被人称为师傅，因为只有一位是你们的师傅，就是基督。
太23:10 And you may not be named guides: because one is your Guide, even Christ.
太23:11 你们中间最大的，必作你们的仆人。
太23:11 But let the greatest among you be your servant.
太23:12 凡高抬自己的，必被降卑；凡自己谦卑的，必被升高。
太23:12 And whoever makes himself high will be made low, and whoever makes himself low will be made high.
太23:13 “虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们在人面前关了天国的门，自己不进去，连正要进去的人，你们也不准他们进去。
太23:13 But a curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! because you are shutting the kingdom of heaven against men: for you do not go in yourselves, and those who are going in, you keep back.
太23:14 （有些抄本有第14节：“虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们吞没了寡妇的房产，假装作冗长的祷告，所以你们必受更重的刑罚。”）

太23:15 “虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们走遍海洋陆地，要使一个人入教；当他入了教，你们却使他沦为地狱之子，比你们更甚。
太23:15 A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! for you go about land and sea to get one disciple and, having him, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.
太23:16 “你们这些瞎眼的向导有祸了！你们说：‘凡指着圣所而起的誓，是没有用的；但指着圣所的金子而起的誓，就必须遵守。’
太23:16 A curse is on you, blind guides, who say, Whoever takes an oath by the Temple, it is nothing; but whoever takes an oath by the gold of the Temple, he is responsible.
太23:17 你们这些瞎眼的愚昧人哪，到底是金子大，还是使金子成圣的圣所大呢？
太23:17 You foolish ones and blind: which is greater, the gold, or the Temple which makes the gold holy?
太23:18 你们又说：‘凡指着祭坛所起的誓，是没有用的；但指着坛上的祭物所起的誓，就必须遵守。’
太23:18 And, Whoever takes an oath by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever takes an oath by the offering which is on it, he is responsible.
太23:19 瞎眼的人哪！到底是祭物大，还是使祭物成圣的祭坛大呢？
太23:19 You blind ones: which is greater, the offering, or the altar which makes the offering holy?
太23:20 所以，凡指着祭坛起誓的，他就是指着祭坛和坛上的一切起誓；
太23:20 He, then, who takes an oath by the altar, takes it by the altar and by all things on it.
太23:21 指着圣所起誓的，就是指着圣所和住在那里的 神起誓；
太23:21 And he who takes an oath by the Temple, takes it by the Temple and by him whose house it is.
太23:22 指着天起誓的，就是指着 神的宝座和坐在宝座上的起誓。
太23:22 And he who takes an oath by heaven, takes it by the seat of God, and by him who is seated on it.
太23:23 “虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们把薄荷、茴香、芹菜，献上十分之一，却忽略律法上更重要的，就如正义、怜悯和信实；这些更重要的是你们应当作的，但其他的也不可忽略。
太23:23 A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! for you make men give a tenth of all sorts of sweet-smelling plants, but you give no thought to the more important things of the law, righteousness, and mercy, and faith; but it is right for you to do these, and not to let the others be undone.
太23:24 你们这些瞎眼的向导啊，你们把蚊虫滤出来，却把骆驼吞下去。
太23:24 You blind guides, who take out a fly from your drink, but make no trouble over a camel.
太23:25 “虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们洗净杯盘的外面，里面却装满了抢夺和放荡。
太23:25 A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! for you make clean the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of violent behaviour and uncontrolled desire.
太23:26 瞎眼的法利赛人哪，先把杯和盘的里面洗净，好使外面也可以干净。
太23:26 You blind Pharisee, first make clean the inside of the cup and of the plate, so that the outside may become equally clean.
太23:27 “虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们好像粉饰了的坟墓，外面好看，里面却装满了死人的骨头和各样的污秽；
太23:27 A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! for you are like the resting-places of the dead, which are made white, and seem beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men's bones and of all unclean things.
太23:28 照样，你们外面看来像义人，里面却充塞着虚伪和不法。
太23:28 Even so you seem to men to be full of righteousness, but inside you are all false and full of wrongdoing.
太23:29 “虚伪的经学家和法利赛人哪，你们有祸了！你们建造先知的墓，修饰义人的碑，
太23:29 A curse is on you, scribes and Pharisees, false ones! because you put up buildings for housing the dead bodies of the prophets, and make fair the last resting-places of good men, and say,
太23:30 并且说：‘我们若活在我们祖先的时代，决不会与他们一同流先知的血。’
太23:30 If we had been living in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in the blood of the prophets.
太23:31 这样，你们就指证自己是杀害先知的人的子孙了。
太23:31 So that you are witnesses against yourselves that you are the sons of those who put the prophets to death.
太23:32 那么，去完成你们祖先的罪孽吧！
太23:32 Make full, then, the measure of your fathers.
太23:33 你们这些蛇，这些毒蛇所生的啊，你们怎能逃脱地狱的刑罚呢？
太23:33 You snakes, offspring of snakes, how will you be kept from the punishment of hell?
太23:34 因此，我差派先知、智慧人和经学家到你们那里；有些你们要杀害又钉在十字架上，有些你们要在会堂里鞭打，从一个城赶逐到另一个城。
太23:34 For this reason, I send you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: some of them you will put to death and put on the cross, and to some of them you will give blows in your Synagogues, driving them from town to town;
太23:35 所以，从义人埃布尔的血起，到巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血为止，他就是你们在圣所和祭坛中间所杀的，所有义人在地上所流的血，都要归在你们身上。
太23:35 So that on you may come all the blood of the upright on the earth, from the blood of upright Abel to the blood of Zachariah, son of Barachiah, whom you put to death between the Temple and the altar.
太23:36 我实在告诉你们，这一切都必临到这个世代。
太23:36 Truly I say to you, All these things will come on this generation.
太23:37 “耶路撒冷，耶路撒冷啊，你杀害先知，又用石头把奉派到你们那里的人打死。我多次想招聚你的儿女，好像母鸡招聚小鸡到翅膀底下，只是你们不愿意。
太23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, putting to death the prophets, and stoning those who are sent to her! Again and again would I have taken your children to myself as a bird takes her young ones under her wings, and you would not!
太23:38 你看，你们的家必成为荒场，留给你们。
太23:38 See, your house is made waste.
太23:39 我告诉你们，从今以后，你们一定见不到我，直等到你们说：‘奉主名来的，是应当称颂的。’”
太23:39 For I say to you, You will not see me from this time till you say, A blessing on him who comes in the name of the Lord.
