太11:1 耶稣吩咐完了十二门徒，就离开那里，在各城里施教传道。
太11:1 And it came about that when Jesus had come to the end of giving these orders to his twelve disciples, he went away from there, teaching and preaching in their towns.
太11:2 约翰在监狱里听见基督所作的，就派门徒去问他：
太11:2 Now when John had news in prison of the works of the Christ, he sent his disciples
太11:3 “你就是那位要来的，还是我们要等别人呢？”
太11:3 To say to him, Are you he who is to come, or are we waiting for another?
太11:4 耶稣回答他们：“你们回去，把听见和看见的都告诉约翰，
太11:4 And Jesus, answering, said to them, Go and give news to John of the things which you are seeing and hearing:
太11:5 就是瞎的可以看见，瘸的可以走路，患痲风的得到洁净，聋的可以听见，死人复活，穷人有福音听。
太11:5 The blind see; those who were not able to, are walking; lepers are made clean; those who were without hearing, now have their ears open; the dead come to life again, and the poor have the good news given to them.
太11:6 那不被我绊倒的，就有福了。”
太11:6 And a blessing will be on him who has no doubts about me.
太11:7 他们走了之后，耶稣对群众讲起约翰来，说：“你们到旷野去，是要看什么？被风吹动的芦苇吗？
太11:7 And when they were going away, Jesus, talking of John, said to all the people, What went you out into the waste land to see? a tall stem moving in the wind?
太11:8 你们出去到底要看什么？身穿华丽衣裳的人吗？那些穿着华丽衣裳的人，是在王宫里的。
太11:8 But what went you out to see? a man delicately clothed? Those who have fair robes are in kings' houses.
太11:9 那么，你们出去要看什么？先知吗？我告诉你们，是的。他比先知重要得多了。
太11:9 But why did you go out? to see a prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
太11:10 经上所记：‘看哪，我差遣我的使者在你面前，他必在你前头预备你的道路。’这句话是指着他说的。
太11:10 This is he of whom it has been said, See, I send my servant before your face, who will make ready your way before you.
太11:11 我实在告诉你们，妇人所生的，没有一个比施洗的约翰更大；然而天国里最小的比他还大。
太11:11 Truly I say to you, Among the sons of women there has not been a greater than John the Baptist: but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
太11:12 从施洗的约翰的时候直到现在，天国不断遭受猛烈的攻击，强暴的人企图把它夺去。
太11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist till now, the kingdom of heaven is forcing its way in, and men of force take it.
太11:13 所有的先知和律法，直到约翰为止，都说了预言。
太11:13 For all the prophets and the law were in force till John.
太11:14 如果你们肯接受，约翰就是那要来的以利亚。
太11:14 And if you are able to see it, this is Elijah who was to come.
太11:15 有耳的，就应当听。
太11:15 He who has ears, let him give ear.
太11:16 “我要把这世代比作什么呢？它好像一些小孩子坐在市中心，呼叫别的小孩子，
太11:16 But what comparison may I make of this generation? It is like children seated in the market-places, crying out to one another,
太11:17 说：‘我们给你们吹笛子，你们却不跳舞；我们唱哀歌，你们也不捶胸。’
太11:17 We made music for you and you did not take part in the dance; we gave cries of sorrow and you made no signs of grief.
太11:18 约翰来了，不吃也不喝，人说他是鬼附的；
太11:18 For John came, taking no food or drink, and they say, He has an evil spirit.
太11:19 人子来了，又吃又喝，人却说：‘你看，这人贪食好酒，与税吏和罪人为友。’但智慧借着它所作的，就证实是公义的了。”
太11:19 The Son of man has come feasting, and they say, See, a lover of food and wine, a friend of tax-farmers and sinners! And wisdom is judged to be right by her works.
太11:20 那时，耶稣责备那些他曾在那里行过许多神迹的城，因为它们不肯悔改：
太11:20 Then he went on to say hard things to the towns where most of his works of power were done, because they had not been turned from their sins.
太11:21 “哥拉逊啊，你有祸了！伯赛大啊，你有祸了！在你们那里行过的神迹，如果行在推罗和西顿，它们早已披麻蒙灰悔改了。
太11:21 Unhappy are you, Chorazin! Unhappy are you, Beth-saida! For if the works of power which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have been turned from their sins in days gone by, clothing themselves in haircloth and putting dust on their heads.
太11:22 但我告诉你们，在审判的日子，推罗和西顿所受的，比你们还轻呢。
太11:22 But I say to you, It will be better for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judging, than for you.
太11:23 迦百农啊！你会被高举到天上吗？你必降到阴间。在你那里行过的神迹，如果行在所多玛，那城还会存留到今天。
太11:23 And you, Capernaum, were you not to be lifted up to heaven? you will go down into hell: for if the works of power which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have been here to this day.
太11:24 但我告诉你们，在审判的日子，所多玛那地方所受的，比你还轻呢。”
太11:24 But I say to you that it will be better for the land of Sodom in the day of judging, than for you.
太11:25 就在那时候，耶稣说：“父啊，天地的主，我赞美你，因为你把这些事向智慧和聪明的人隐藏起来，却向婴孩显明。
太11:25 At that time Jesus made answer and said, I give praise to you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have kept these things secret from the wise and the men of learning, and have made them clear to little children.
太11:26 父啊，是的，这就是你的美意。
太11:26 Yes, Father, for so it was pleasing in your eyes.
太11:27 我父已经把一切交给我；除了父没有人认识子，除了子和子所愿意启示的人，没有人认识父。
太11:27 All things have been given to me by my Father; and no one has knowledge of the Son, but the Father; and no one has knowledge of the Father, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will make it clear.
太11:28 你们所有劳苦担重担的人哪，到我这里来吧！我必使你们得安息。
太11:28 Come to me, all you who are troubled and weighted down with care, and I will give you rest.
太11:29 我心里柔和谦卑，你们应当负我的轭，向我学习，你们就必得着心灵的安息；
太11:29 Take my yoke on you and become like me, for I am gentle and without pride, and you will have rest for your souls;
太11:30 我的轭是容易负的，我的担子是轻省的。”
太11:30 For my yoke is good, and the weight I take up is not hard.
