太16:1 法利赛人和撒都该人前来试探耶稣，求他显个从天上来的神迹给他们看。
太16:1 And the Pharisees and Sadducees came and, testing him, made a request to him to give them a sign from heaven.
太16:2 耶稣回答：“黄昏的时候，你们说：‘天色通红，明天一定是晴天。’
太16:2 But in answer he said to them, At nightfall you say, The weather will be good, for the sky is red.
太16:3 早上的时候，你们说：‘天色又红又暗，今天一定有风雨。’你们知道分辨天色，却不能分辨时代的征兆吗？
太16:3 And in the morning, The weather will be bad today, for the sky is red and angry. You are able to see the face of heaven, but not the signs of the times.
太16:4 邪恶和淫乱的世代要寻求神迹，除了约拿的神迹之外，不会有什么神迹给它了。”耶稣就离开他们走了。
太16:4 An evil and false generation is searching after a sign; and no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah. And he went away from them.
太16:5 门徒到了对岸，忘记了带饼。
太16:5 And when the disciples came to the other side they had not taken thought to get bread.
太16:6 耶稣对他们说：“你们要小心，提防法利赛人和撒都该人的酵。”
太16:6 And Jesus said to them, Take care to have nothing to do with the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
太16:7 他们就彼此议论说：“这是因为我们没有带饼吧。”
太16:7 And they were reasoning among themselves, saying, We took no bread.
太16:8 耶稣知道了，就说：“小信的人，为什么议论没有饼这件事呢？
太16:8 And Jesus, seeing it, said, O you of little faith, why are you reasoning among yourselves, because you have no bread?
太16:9 你们还不明白吗？你们是不是忘记了那五个饼分给五千人，又装满了多少个篮子呢？
太16:9 Do you still not see, or keep in mind the five cakes of bread of the five thousand, and the number of baskets you took up?
太16:10 还是忘记了那七个饼分给四千人，又装满了多少个大篮子呢？
太16:10 Or the seven cakes of bread of the four thousand, and the number of baskets you took up?
太16:11 我对你们讲的不是饼的事，你们为什么不明白？你们要提防法利赛人和撒都该人的酵。”
太16:11 How is it that you do not see that I was not talking to you about bread, but about keeping away from the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees?
太16:12 这时他们才领会耶稣说的不是要提防饼酵，而是要提防法利赛人和撒都该人的教训。
太16:12 Then they saw that it was not the leaven of bread which he had in mind, but the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
太16:13 耶稣来到该撒利亚．腓立比的地区，就问自己的门徒：“人说人子是谁？”
太16:13 Now when Jesus had come into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he said, questioning his disciples, Who do men say that the Son of man is?
太16:14 他们回答：“有人说是施洗的约翰，有人说是以利亚，也有人说是耶利米，或是先知里的一位。”
太16:14 And they said, Some say, John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
太16:15 他问他们：“你们说我是谁？”
太16:15 He says to them, But who do you say that I am?
太16:16 西门．彼得回答：“你是基督，是永生 神的儿子。”
太16:16 And Simon Peter made answer and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
太16:17 耶稣对他说：“约拿的儿子西门，你是有福的，因为这不是人（“人”原文作“肉和血”）指示你的，而是我在天上的父启示你的。
太16:17 And Jesus made answer and said to him, A blessing on you, Simon Bar-jonah: because this knowledge has not come to you from flesh and blood, but from my Father in heaven.
太16:18 我告诉你，你是彼得，我要在这盘石上建立我的教会，死亡的权势（“死亡的权势”原文作“阴间的门”）不能胜过他。
太16:18 And I say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock will my church be based, and the doors of hell will not overcome it.
太16:19 我要把天国的钥匙给你，你在地上捆绑的，在天上也被捆绑；你在地上释放的，在天上也被释放。”
太16:19 I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever is fixed by you on earth will be fixed in heaven: and whatever you make free on earth will be made free in heaven.
太16:20 于是耶稣吩咐门徒不可对人说他就是基督。
太16:20 Then he gave orders to the disciples to give no man word that he was the Christ.
太16:21 从那时起，耶稣开始向门徒指出，他必须往耶路撒冷去，受长老、祭司长和经学家许多的苦害，并且被杀，第三天复活。
太16:21 From that time Jesus went on to make clear to his disciples how he would have to go up to Jerusalem, and undergo much at the hands of those in authority and the chief priests and scribes, and be put to death, and the third day come again from the dead.
太16:22 彼得就把他拉到一边，责怪他说：“主啊，千万不可这样，这事一定不会发生在你身上的。”
太16:22 And Peter, protesting, said to him, Be it far from you, Lord; it is impossible that this will come about.
太16:23 耶稣转过来对彼得说：“撒但！退到我后面去！你是绊倒我的，因为你不思念 神的事，只思念人的事。”
太16:23 But he, turning to Peter, said, Get out of my way, Satan: you are a danger to me because your mind is not on the things of God, but on the things of men.
太16:24 于是耶稣对门徒说：“如果有人愿意跟从我，就当舍己，背起他的十字架来跟从我。
太16:24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him give up all, and take up his cross, and come after me.
太16:25 凡是想救自己生命的，必丧掉生命；但为我牺牲生命的，必得着生命。
太16:25 Because whoever has a desire to keep his life safe will have it taken from him; but whoever gives up his life because of me, will have it given back to him.
太16:26 人若赚得全世界，却赔上自己的生命，有什么好处呢？人还能用什么换回自己的生命呢？
太16:26 For what profit has a man, if he gets all the world with the loss of his life? or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
太16:27 人子要在父的荣耀里和众天使一同降临，那时他要照各人的行为报应各人。
太16:27 For the Son of man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he will give to every man the reward of his works.
太16:28 我实在告诉你们，站在这里的，有人在没有尝过死味以前，必要看见人子带着他的国降临。”
太16:28 Truly I say to you, There are some of those here who will not have a taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
