创11:1 那时，全世界只有一种语言，大家说同样的话语。
创11:1 And all the earth had one language and one tongue.
创11:2 他们向东迁移的时候，在示拿地发现一块平原，就住在那里。
创11:2 And it came about that in their wandering from the east, they came to a stretch of flat country in the land of Shinar, and there they made their living-place.
创11:3 他们彼此说：“来，我们做砖，把砖烧透吧！”他们就把砖当作石头，又把石漆当作灰泥。
创11:3 And they said one to another, Come, let us make bricks, burning them well. And they had bricks for stone, putting them together with sticky earth.
创11:4 他们又说：“来，我们建一座城，造一座塔，塔顶要通天。我们要为自己立名，免得分散在全地上。”
创11:4 And they said, Come, let us make a town, and a tower whose top will go up as high as heaven; and let us make a great name for ourselves, so that we may not be wanderers over the face of the earth.
创11:5 耶和华下来，要看看世人建造的城和塔。
创11:5 And the Lord came down to see the town and the tower which the children of men were building.
创11:6 耶和华说：“看哪，他们同是一个民族，有一样的语言，他们一开始就作这事，以后他们所要作的一切，就没有可以拦阻他们的了。
创11:6 And the Lord said, See, they are all one people and have all one language; and this is only the start of what they may do: and now it will not be possible to keep them from any purpose of theirs.
创11:7 来，我们下去，在那里混乱他们的语言，使他们听不懂对方的话。”
创11:7 Come, let us go down and take away the sense of their language, so that they will not be able to make themselves clear to one another.
创11:8 于是，耶和华把他们从那里分散到全地上，他们就停止建造那城。
创11:8 So the Lord God sent them away into every part of the earth: and they gave up building their town.
创11:9 因此，那城的名就叫巴别，因为耶和华在那里混乱了全地所有的人的语言，又从那里把他们分散在全地上。
创11:9 So it was named Babel, because there the Lord took away the sense of all languages and from there the Lord sent them away over all the face of the earth.
创11:10 以下是闪的后代。洪水以后两年，闪一百岁的时候，生了亚法撒。
创11:10 These are the generations of Shem. Shem was a hundred years old when he became the father of Arpachshad, two years after the great flow of waters;
创11:11 闪生亚法撒以后，又活了五百年，并且生了其他的儿女。
创11:11 And after the birth of Arpachshad, Shem went on living for five hundred years, and had sons and daughters:
创11:12 亚法撒活到三十五岁，就生了色拉。
创11:12 And Arpachshad was thirty-five years old when he became the father of Shelah:
创11:13 亚法撒生色拉以后，又活了四百零三年，并且生了其他的儿女。
创11:13 And after the birth of Shelah, Arpachshad went on living for four hundred and three years, and had sons and daughters:
创11:14 色拉活到三十岁，就生了希伯。
创11:14 And Shelah was thirty years old when he became the father of Eber:
创11:15 色拉生希伯以后，又活了四百零三年，并且生了其他的儿女。
创11:15 And after the birth of Eber, Shelah went on living for four hundred and three years, and had sons and daughters:
创11:16 希伯活到三十四岁，就生了法勒。
创11:16 And Eber was thirty-four years old when he became the father of Peleg:
创11:17 希伯生法勒以后，又活了四百三十年，并且生了其他的儿女。
创11:17 And after the birth of Peleg, Eber went on living for four hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters:
创11:18 法勒活到三十岁，就生了拉吴。
创11:18 And Peleg was thirty years old when he became the father of Reu:
创11:19 法勒生拉吴以后，又活了二百零九年，并且生了其他的儿女。
创11:19 And after the birth of Reu, Peleg went on living for two hundred and nine years, and had sons and daughters:
创11:20 拉吴活到三十二岁，就生了西鹿。
创11:20 And Reu was thirty-two years old when he became the father of Serug:
创11:21 拉吴生西鹿以后，又活了二百零七年，并且生了其他的儿女。
创11:21 And after the birth of Serug, Reu went on living for two hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters:
创11:22 西鹿活到三十岁，就生了拿鹤。
创11:22 And Serug was thirty years old when he became the father of Nahor:
创11:23 西鹿生拿鹤以后，又活了二百年，并且生了其他的儿女。
创11:23 And after the birth of Nahor, Serug went on living for two hundred years, and had sons and daughters:
创11:24 拿鹤活到二十九岁，就生了他拉。
创11:24 And Nahor was twenty-nine years old when he became the father of Terah:
创11:25 拿鹤生他拉以后，又活了一百一十九年，并且生了其他的儿女。
创11:25 And after the birth of Terah, Nahor went on living for a hundred and nineteen years, and had sons and daughters:
创11:26 他拉活到七十岁，就生了埃布尔兰、拿鹤和哈兰。
创11:26 And Terah was seventy years old when he became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
创11:27 以下是他拉的后代：他拉生埃布尔兰、拿鹤和哈兰；哈兰生罗得。
创11:27 These are the generations of Terah: Terah was the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran was the father of Lot.
创11:28 哈兰在他父亲他拉之前，死在他出生之地，就是迦勒底的吾珥。
创11:28 And death came to Haran when he was with his father Terah in the land of his birth, Ur of the Chaldees.
创11:29 埃布尔兰和拿鹤都娶了妻子；埃布尔兰的妻子名叫撒莱；拿鹤的妻子名叫密迦，是哈兰的女儿；哈兰是密迦和亦迦的父亲。
创11:29 And Abram and Nahor took wives for themselves: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah and Iscah.
创11:30 撒莱不能生育，没有孩子。
创11:30 And Sarai had no child.
创11:31 他拉带着他的儿子埃布尔兰和他的孙子，就是哈兰的儿子罗得，以及他的媳妇埃布尔兰的妻子撒莱，一同出了迦勒底的吾珥，要到迦南地去；他们到了哈兰，就住在那里。
创11:31 And Terah took Abram, his son, and Lot, the son of Haran, and Sarai, his daughter-in-law, the wife of his son Abram and they went out from Ur of the Chaldees, to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran, and were there for some time.
创11:32 他拉死在哈兰；他的寿数共二百零五岁。
创11:32 And all the years of Terah's life were two hundred and five: and Terah came to his end in Haran.
