民25:1 以色列人住在什亭，人民与摩押的女子行起淫乱来。
民25:1 Now when Israel was living in Shittim the people became false to the Lord, doing evil with the daughters of Moab:
民25:2 那些女子叫以色列人来，一同给她们的神献祭，以色列人也吃了她们的祭物，跪拜她们的神。
民25:2 For they sent for the people to be present at the offerings made to their gods; and the people took part in their feasts and gave honour to their gods.
民25:3 以色列人与巴力．毗珥连合，耶和华就向以色列人发怒。
民25:3 So Israel had relations with the women of Moab in honour of the Baal of Peor: and the Lord was moved to wrath against Israel.
民25:4 耶和华对摩西说：“把人民的首领都捉来，在我耶和华面前对着太阳把他们悬挂起来，好使耶和华的烈怒可以转消，不向以色列人发作。”
民25:4 Then the Lord said to Moses, Take all the chiefs of the people, hanging them up in the sun before the Lord, so that the wrath of the Lord may be turned from Israel.
民25:5 于是摩西对以色列的审判官说：“你们各人要把与巴力．毗珥连合的人都杀了。”
民25:5 So Moses said to the judges of Israel, Let everyone put to death those of his men who have had relations with the women of Moab in honour of the Baal of Peor.
民25:6 摩西和以色列全体会众在会幕门口哭泣的时候，以色列人中有一个人来，当着他们的面带了一个米甸女子到自己的兄弟那里去。
民25:6 Then one of the children of Israel came to his brothers, taking with him a woman of Midian, before the eyes of Moses and all the meeting of the people, while they were weeping at the door of the Tent of meeting.
民25:7 亚伦祭司的孙子、以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈看见了，就从会众中起来，手里拿着枪，
民25:7 And Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, seeing it, got up from among the people and took a spear in his hand,
民25:8 跟着那以色列人，进入卧室，把他们两人刺透，就是刺透那以色列人和那女子。枪刺进了那女子的肚腹。这样，在以色列人中的瘟疫才止住。
民25:8 And went after the man of Israel into the tent, driving the spear through the two of them, through the man of Israel and through the stomach of the woman. So the disease was stopped among the children of Israel.
民25:9 那时因瘟疫而死的，共有二万四千人。
民25:9 But twenty-four thousand of them had come to their death by the disease.
民25:10 耶和华对摩西说：
民25:10 And the Lord said to Moses,
民25:11 “亚伦祭司的孙子、以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈，使我的烈怒稍消，不向以色列人发作，因为他在他们中间以我忌邪的心为心，使我不因我忌邪的心把他们消灭。
民25:11 Through Phinehas, and because of his passion for my honour, my wrath has been turned away from the children of Israel, so that I have not sent destruction on them all in my wrath.
民25:12 因此你要说：‘现在我把平安之约赐给他，
民25:12 So say to them that I will make with him an agreement of peace:
民25:13 要给他和他的后裔作为永远担当祭司职分的约，因为他为他的 神有忌邪的心，为以色列人赎罪。’”
民25:13 And by this agreement, he and his sons after him have the right to be priests for ever; because, by his care for the honour of his God, he took away the sin of the children of Israel.
民25:14 那被杀的以色列人，就是与那米甸女子一同被杀的人，名叫心利，是撒路的儿子，是西缅支派中一个家族的领袖。
民25:14 Now the man of Israel who was put to death with the woman of Midian was Zimri, the son of Salu, a chief of one of the families of the Simeonites.
民25:15 那被杀的米甸女子，名叫哥斯比，是苏珥的女儿；这苏珥是米甸一个家族的族长。
民25:15 And the woman of Midian who was put to death was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was the head of a family in Midian.
民25:16 耶和华对摩西说：
民25:16 Then the Lord said to Moses,
民25:17 “你要扰害米甸人，打击他们；
民25:17 Take up arms against the Midianites and overcome them;
民25:18 因为他们用诡计扰害你们；在毗珥的事上，和他们的姊妹，米甸领袖的女儿哥斯比的事上，用诡计欺骗了你们。”这哥斯比在瘟疫的日子，因毗珥的事被杀了。
民25:18 For they are a danger to you with their false ways, causing sin to come on you in the question of Peor, and because of Cozbi, their sister, the daughter of the chief of Midian, who was put to death at the time of the disease which came on you because of Peor.
