伯2:1 又有一天， 神的众子都来侍立在耶和华面前，撒但也来到他们中间，侍立在耶和华面前。
伯2:1 And there was a day when the sons of the gods came together before the Lord, and the Satan came with them.
伯2:2 耶和华问撒但：“你从哪里来？”撒但回答说：“我在地上徘徊，走来走去。”
伯2:2 And the Lord said to the Satan, Where do you come from? And the Satan said in answer, From wandering this way and that on the earth, and walking about on it.
伯2:3 耶和华问撒但：“你有没有注意到我的仆人约伯？世上再也没有一个人像他那样完全、正直，敬畏 神，远离罪恶。虽然你挑拨我与他作对，无缘无故使他倾家荡产，他还是坚守自己的纯全。”
伯2:3 And the Lord said to the Satan, Have you taken note of my servant Job, for there is no one like him on the earth, a man without sin and upright, fearing God and keeping himself far from evil? and he still keeps his righteousness, though you have been moving me to send destruction on him without cause.
伯2:4 撒但回答耶和华说：“人以皮换皮，宁可付出他所有的一切去保命。
伯2:4 And the Satan said in answer to the Lord, Skin for skin, all a man has he will give for his life.
伯2:5 只要你伸手伤害他的骨和肉，他一定当面亵渎你。”
伯2:5 But now, if you only put your hand on his bone and his flesh, he will certainly be cursing you to your face.
伯2:6 耶和华对撒但说：“好吧，他在你手中，不过，要留存他的命。”
伯2:6 And the Lord said to the Satan, See, he is in your hands, only do not take his life.
伯2:7 于是撒但从耶和华面前退去，击打约伯，使他从脚掌到头顶都生了毒疮。
伯2:7 And the Satan went out from before the Lord, and sent on Job an evil disease covering his skin from his feet to the top of his head.
伯2:8 约伯坐在灰烬中，拿瓦片刮自己。
伯2:8 And he took a broken bit of a pot, and, seated in the dust, was rubbing himself with the sharp edge of it.
伯2:9 他妻子对他说：“难道你还要坚守自己的纯全吗？你不如放弃 神，死掉算了。”
伯2:9 And his wife said to him, Are you still keeping your righteousness? Say a curse against God, and put an end to yourself.
伯2:10 可是约伯对她说：“你说话像个愚妄的女人。难道我们从 神得福，也不应当受祸吗？”在这一切事上，约伯并没有用口犯罪。
伯2:10 And he said to her, You are talking like one of the foolish women. If we take the good God sends us, are we not to take the evil when it comes? In all this Job kept his lips from sin.
伯2:11 约伯的三个朋友，提幔人以利法、书亚人比勒达、拿玛人琐法，听到这一切降在他身上的灾祸，就各从自己的地方出发，相约而来对他表同情，安慰他。
伯2:11 And Job's three friends had word of all this evil which had come on him. And they came every one from his place, Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. So they came together to a meeting-place, in order that they might go and make clear to Job their grief for him, and give him comfort.
伯2:12 他们从远处举目观望，竟认不出他来，就放声大哭，各自撕裂外袍，向天扬起尘土，落在自己头上。
伯2:12 And lifting up their eyes when they were still far off, it did not seem that the man they saw was Job because of the change in him. And they gave way to bitter weeping, with signs of grief, and put dust on their heads.
伯2:13 他们就七天七夜与他一起坐在地上，没有人向他说一句话，因为他们看出他极其痛苦。
伯2:13 And they took their seats on the earth by his side for seven days and seven nights: but no one said a word to him, for they saw that his pain was very great.
