伯41:1 “你能用鱼钩钓上鳄鱼吗？能用绳子把牠的舌头压下吗？
伯41:1 Is it possible for Leviathan to be pulled out with a fish-hook, or for a hook to be put through the bone of his mouth?
伯41:2 能把草绳穿进牠的鼻子吗？能用刺钩穿透牠的腮骨吗？
伯41:2 Will you put a cord into his nose, or take him away with a cord round his tongue?
伯41:3 牠会向你再三恳求，对你说温柔的话吗？
伯41:3 Will he make prayers to you, or say soft words to you?
伯41:4 牠肯与你立约，好使你永远奴役牠吗？
伯41:4 Will he make an agreement with you, so that you may take him as a servant for ever?
伯41:5 你怎能玩弄牠，像玩弄雀鸟一样呢？怎能把牠拴住，给你的幼女取乐呢？
伯41:5 Will you make sport with him, as with a bird? or put him in chains for your young women?
伯41:6 结伙的渔夫怎能拿牠当货物买卖呢？怎能把牠分给商人呢？
伯41:6 Will the fishermen make profit out of him? will they have him cut up for the traders?
伯41:7 你能用倒钩扎满牠的皮吗？能用鱼叉扎满牠的头吗？
伯41:7 Will you put sharp-pointed irons into his skin, or fish-spears into his head?
伯41:8 你把手按在牠身上，想到与牠的战斗，你就不再是这样作了。（本章第1~8节在《马索拉抄本》为40:25~32）
伯41:8 Only put your hand on him, and see what a fight you will have; you will not do it again!
伯41:9 人希望捉住牠是徒然的，人一见牠，就心惊胆战。（本节在《马索拉抄本》为41:1）
伯41:9 Truly, the hope of his attacker is false; he is overcome even on seeing him!
伯41:10 人惹牠的时候，牠不是很凶猛吗？这样，有谁人在我面前能站立得住呢？
伯41:10 He is so cruel that no one is ready to go against him. Who then is able to keep his place before me?
伯41:11 谁先给了我，以致我要偿还呢？天下万物，都是我的。
伯41:11 Who ever went against me, and got the better of me? There is no one under heaven!
伯41:12 论到鳄鱼的四肢和牠的力气，以及美好的体态，我不能缄默不言。
伯41:12 I will not keep quiet about the parts of his body, or about his power, and the strength of his frame.
伯41:13 谁能揭开牠的外皮呢？谁能进入牠上下两颚之间呢？
伯41:13 Who has ever taken off his outer skin? who may come inside his inner coat of iron?
伯41:14 谁能打开牠的口呢？牠的牙齿令人战栗。
伯41:14 Who has made open the doors of his face? Fear is round about his teeth.
伯41:15 牠的背有一行一行的鳞甲，紧紧合闭着，像印得很紧的印章一样。
伯41:15 His back is made of lines of plates, joined tight together, one against the other, like a stamp.
伯41:16 这鳞甲一一相连接，连气也透不入其间，
伯41:16 One is so near to the other that no air may come between them.
伯41:17 鳞甲一一互相连合，互相紧贴，不能分离。
伯41:17 They take a grip of one another; they are joined together, so that they may not be parted.
伯41:18 牠打的喷嚏闪出光来，牠的眼睛如同清晨的阳光；
伯41:18 His sneezings give out flames, and his eyes are like the eyes of the dawn.
伯41:19 有火从牠的口中发出，火星四射；
伯41:19 Out of his mouth go burning lights, and flames of fire are jumping up.
伯41:20 有烟从牠的鼻孔里冒出来，像从沸腾的锅中和烧着的芦苇里冒出来一样；
伯41:20 Smoke comes out of his nose, like a pot boiling on the fire.
伯41:21 牠的气可以点着煤炭，有火焰从牠的口里喷出来，
伯41:21 His breath puts fire to coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.
伯41:22 牠的颈项上存着能力，惊恐在牠面前跳跃。
伯41:22 Strength is in his neck, and fear goes dancing before him.
伯41:23 牠下垂的肌肉紧贴在一起，牢牢地贴在身上，不能摇动。
伯41:23 The plates of his flesh are joined together, fixed, and not to be moved.
伯41:24 牠的心坚实如石头，如下磨石那样坚实。
伯41:24 His heart is as strong as a stone, hard as the lower crushing-stone.
伯41:25 牠一起来，勇士都惊慌，因惊惶过度举止失措。
伯41:25 When he gets ready for the fight, the strong are overcome with fear.
伯41:26 追上牠的刀剑都没用，矛枪、标枪、短枪也是这样。
伯41:26 The sword may come near him but is not able to go through him; the spear, or the arrow, or the sharp-pointed iron.
伯41:27 牠把铁当作干草，把铜当作朽木。
伯41:27 Iron is to him as dry grass, and brass as soft wood.
伯41:28 弓箭不能使牠逃跑，甩石机弦在牠看来不过是碎秸。
伯41:28 The arrow is not able to put him to flight: stones are no more to him than dry stems.
伯41:29 棍棒被牠当作碎秸，短枪飕飕之声牠也讥笑。
伯41:29 A thick stick is no better than a leaf of grass, and he makes sport of the onrush of the spear.
伯41:30 牠的腹下像锐利的瓦片，牠在泥上碾过如同有利钉的耙犁田一样。
伯41:30 Under him are sharp edges of broken pots: as if he was pulling a grain-crushing instrument over the wet earth.
伯41:31 牠使深渊沸腾，牠搅动海洋如在鼎中调制膏油。
伯41:31 The deep is boiling like a pot of spices, and the sea like a perfume-vessel.
伯41:32 牠使自己行过的路发出白光，令人把深渊当作白发老人。
伯41:32 After him his way is shining, so that the deep seems white.
伯41:33 在世上没有一样像牠的，牠是无所惧怕的动物；
伯41:33 On earth there is not another like him, who is made without fear.
伯41:34 所有高大的动物，牠都藐视，牠在一切狂傲的野兽之上作王。”
伯41:34 Everything which is high goes in fear of him; he is king over all the sons of pride.
