伯23:1 约伯回答说：
伯23:1 And Job made answer and said,
伯23:2 “直到今日我还有苦情要申诉，我虽然叹息，他的手仍然沉重。
伯23:2 Even today my outcry is bitter; his hand is hard on my sorrow.
伯23:3 但愿我知道怎样能寻见 神，能到他的台前来。
伯23:3 If only I had knowledge of where he might be seen, so that I might come even to his seat!
伯23:4 好让我在他面前呈上我的案件，满口辩论向他申诉；
伯23:4 I would put my cause in order before him, and my mouth would be full of arguments.
伯23:5 知道他要回答我的话，明白他对我说什么。
伯23:5 I would see what his answers would be, and have knowledge of what he would say to me.
伯23:6 他会以大能与我相争吗？必不会这样，他必关怀我。
伯23:6 Would he make use of his great power to overcome me? No, but he would give attention to me.
伯23:7 在他那里正直人可以与他彼此辩论，这样，我就必永远摆脱那审判我的。
伯23:7 There an upright man might put his cause before him; and I would be free for ever from my judge.
伯23:8 可是我往前走，他不在那里；我若往后退，我也不能见他。
伯23:8 See, I go forward, but he is not there; and back, but I do not see him;
伯23:9 他在左边行事，我却见不到；他在右边隐藏，我却看不见。
伯23:9 I am looking for him on the left hand, but there is no sign of him; and turning to the right, I am not able to see him.
伯23:10 可是他知道我所行的道路，他试炼我以后，我必像精金出现。
伯23:10 For he has knowledge of the way I take; after I have been tested I will come out like gold.
伯23:11 我的脚紧随他的脚步，我谨守他的道，并不偏离。
伯23:11 My feet have gone in his steps; I have kept in his way, without turning to one side or to the other.
伯23:12 他嘴唇的命令我没有离弃，我珍藏他口中的言语在我的怀里，胜过我需用的饮食。
伯23:12 I have never gone against the orders of his lips; the words of his mouth have been stored up in my heart.
伯23:13 但是他既已定意，谁能使他转意呢？他心里所愿的，就行出来。
伯23:13 But his purpose is fixed and there is no changing it; and he gives effect to the desire of his soul.
伯23:14 他为我所定的，他必成全，这类的事情，他还有许多。
伯23:14 For what has been ordered for me by him will be gone through to the end: and his mind is full of such designs.
伯23:15 因此我在他面前惊惶，一想到这事，我就惧怕他。
伯23:15 For this cause I am in fear before him, my thoughts of him overcome me.
伯23:16 神使我心里胆怯，全能者使我惊惶，
伯23:16 For God has made my heart feeble, and my mind is troubled before the Ruler of all.
伯23:17 因为我在黑暗面前并没有被消灭，也不怕幽暗遮盖着我的脸。”
伯23:17 For I am overcome by the dark, and by the black night which is covering my face.
