出2:1 有一个利未家的人去娶了一个利未女子为妻。
出2:1 Now a man of the house of Levi took as his wife a daughter of Levi.
出2:2 那女人怀孕，生了一个儿子；见他俊美，就把他藏了三个月。
出2:2 And she became with child and gave birth to a Son; and when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she kept him secretly for three months.
出2:3 直到她不能把他再藏了，就拿一个蒲草箱来，涂上沥青和石漆；把孩子放在里面，把箱子放在河边的芦苇丛中。
出2:3 And when she was no longer able to keep him secret, she made him a basket out of the stems of water-plants, pasting sticky earth over it to keep the water out; and placing the baby in it she put it among the plants by the edge of the Nile.
出2:4 孩子的姊姊远远地站着，要知道孩子究竟怎样。
出2:4 And his sister took her place at a distance to see what would become of him.
出2:5 那时，法老的女儿下到河边去洗澡；她的使女们在河边行走；她看见了在芦苇中的箱子，就打发自己的使女去把箱子拿过来。
出2:5 Now Pharaoh's daughter came down to the Nile to take a bath, while her women were walking by the riverside; and she saw the basket among the river-plants, and sent her servant-girl to get it.
出2:6 她打开了，就看见那孩子；看哪，孩子哭了，她就怜悯他，说：“这是希伯来人的一个孩子。”
出2:6 And opening it, she saw the child, and he was crying. And she had pity on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.
出2:7 孩子的姊姊对法老的女儿说：“我去从希伯来妇人中给你请一个奶妈来，为你乳养这个孩子可以吗？”
出2:7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, May I go and get you one of the Hebrew women to give him the breast?
出2:8 法老的女儿回答：“你去吧。”童女就去把孩子的母亲请了来。
出2:8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the girl went and got the child's mother.
出2:9 法老的女儿对她说：“你把这孩子抱去，替我乳养他，我必给你工钱。”妇人就抱了孩子去乳养他。
出2:9 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Take the child away and give it milk for me, and I will give you payment. And the woman took the child and gave it milk at her breast.
出2:10 孩子长大了，妇人把他带到法老的女儿那里，他就作了法老女儿的儿子。她给孩子起名叫摩西，说：“因为我把他从水里拉出来。”
出2:10 And when the child was older, she took him to Pharaoh's daughter and he became her son, and she gave him the name Moses, Because, she said, I took him out of the water.
出2:11 过了些日子，摩西长大了，有一次，他出去到他的同胞那里去，看见他们的重担，又看见一个埃及人打他的一个同胞希伯来人。
出2:11 Now when Moses had become a man, one day he went out to his people and saw how hard their work was; and he saw an Egyptian giving blows to a Hebrew, one of his people.
出2:12 摩西左右观望，见没有人，就把那埃及人击杀了，埋藏在沙土里。
出2:12 And turning this way and that, and seeing no one, he put the Egyptian to death, covering his body with sand.
出2:13 第二天他又出去，看见两个希伯来人彼此争斗着，就对那欺负人的说：“你为什么打你同族的人呢？”
出2:13 And he went out the day after and saw two of the Hebrews fighting: and he said to him who was in the wrong, Why are you fighting your brother?
出2:14 那人回答：“谁立了你作我们的领袖和审判官呢？难道你想杀我，好像杀那个埃及人一样吗？”摩西就惧怕起来，心里想：“这事必定给人知道了！”
出2:14 And he said, Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? are you going to put me to death as you did the Egyptian? And Moses was in fear, and said, It is clear that the thing has come to light.
出2:15 法老听见这事，就设法要杀摩西；摩西躲避法老，就往米甸地去居住；有一天他坐在井旁。
出2:15 Now when Pharaoh had news of this, he would have put Moses to death. But Moses went in flight from Pharaoh into the land of Midian: and he took his seat by a water-spring.
出2:16 米甸的祭司有七个女儿，她们来打水，打满了水槽，要给父亲的羊群喝。
出2:16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters: and they came to get water for their father's flock.
出2:17 有些牧人来了，把她们赶走；摩西却起来，救了她们，也给她们的羊群喝水。
出2:17 And the keepers of the sheep came up and were driving them away; but Moses got up and came to their help, watering their flock for them.
出2:18 她们回到父亲流珥那里，父亲问：“今天你们为什么赶着回来呢？”
出2:18 And when they came to Reuel their father, he said, How is it that you have come back so quickly today?
出2:19 她们说：“有一个埃及人救我们脱离了牧羊人的手，而且还为我们打水给羊群喝。”
出2:19 And they said, An Egyptian came to our help against the keepers of sheep and got water for us and gave it to the flock.
出2:20 父亲对众女儿说：“他在哪里？你们为什么撇下那人呢？去请他来吃饭。”
出2:20 And he said to his daughters, Where is he? why have you let the man go? make him come in and give him a meal.
出2:21 摩西乐意和那人同住；那人把自己的女儿西坡拉给了摩西作妻子。
出2:21 And Moses was happy to go on living with the man; and he gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses.
出2:22 西坡拉生了一个儿子，摩西给他起名叫革舜，因为他说：“我在异地作了客旅。”
出2:22 And she gave birth to a son, to whom he gave the name Gershom: for he said, I have been living in a strange land.
出2:23 过了很久，埃及王死了。以色列人在捆锁中叹息，他们就呼求，在捆锁中的呼求达到 神那里。
出2:23 Now after a long time the king of Egypt came to his end: and the children of Israel were crying in their grief under the weight of their work, and their cry for help came to the ears of God.
出2:24 神听见他们的呼声，就记念他与亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所立的约。
出2:24 And at the sound of their weeping the agreement which God had made with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob came to his mind.
出2:25 神看顾以色列人，也关注他们。
出2:25 And God's eyes were turned to the children of Israel and he gave them the knowledge of himself.
