出32:1 人民见摩西迟迟不下山，就聚集到亚伦那里去，对他说：“起来，为我们做神像可以走在我们前头领路，因为那摩西，就是把我们从埃及地领出来的那个人，我们不知道他遭遇了什么事。”
出32:1 And when the people saw that Moses was a long time coming down from the mountain, they all came to Aaron and said to him, Come, make us a god to go before us: as for this Moses, who took us up out of the land of Egypt, we have no idea what has become of him.
出32:2 亚伦对他们说：“把你们妻子和儿女戴在耳上的金环摘下来，送来给我。”
出32:2 Then Aaron said to them, Take off the gold rings which are in the ears of your wives and your sons and your daughters, and give them to me.
出32:3 全体人民就把他们耳上的金耳环都摘下来，送来给亚伦。
出32:3 And all the people took the gold rings from their ears and gave them to Aaron.
出32:4 亚伦从他们手中接过来，用雕刻的工具雕刻，铸造了一个牛像；他们就说：“以色列啊，这就是你们的神，就是把你从埃及地领出来的那位。”
出32:4 And he took the gold from them and, hammering it with an instrument, he made it into the metal image of a young ox: and they said, This is your god, O Israel, who took you out of the land of Egypt.
出32:5 亚伦看见了，就在牛像面前筑了一座祭坛，并且宣告，说：“明日是耶和华的节日。”
出32:5 And when Aaron saw this, he made an altar before it, and made a public statement, saying, Tomorrow there will be a feast to the Lord.
出32:6 次日清早，人民起来，就献上了燔祭，也带来了平安祭；然后他们坐下吃喝，起来玩乐。
出32:6 So early on the day after they got up and made burned offerings and peace-offerings; and took their seats at the feast, and then gave themselves to pleasure.
出32:7 耶和华对摩西说：“你下山去吧，因为你的人民，就是你从埃及地领出来的，已经败坏了。
出32:7 And the Lord said to Moses, Go down quickly; for your people, whom you took out of the land of Egypt, are turned to evil ways;
出32:8 他们很快就偏离了我吩咐他们的道路，为自己铸造了一个牛像，向它跪拜，向它献祭，说：‘以色列啊，这就是你的神，就是把你从埃及地领出来的那位。’”
出32:8 Even now they are turned away from the rule I gave them, and have made themselves a metal ox and given worship to it and offerings, saying, This is your god, O Israel, who took you up out of the land of Egypt.
出32:9 耶和华对摩西说：“我看这人民，真是硬着颈项的人民。
出32:9 And the Lord said to Moses, I have been watching this people, and I see that they are a stiff-necked people.
出32:10 现在，你且由得我，让我向他们发烈怒，把他们消灭；我要使你成为大国。”
出32:10 Now do not get in my way, for my wrath is burning against them; I will send destruction on them, but of you I will make a great nation.
出32:11 摩西就恳求耶和华他的 神施恩，说：“耶和华啊，你为什么向你的人民发烈怒呢？这人民是你用大能和全能的手从埃及地领出来的。
出32:11 But Moses made prayer to God, saying, Lord, why is your wrath burning against your people whom you took out of the land of Egypt, with great power and with the strength of your hand?
出32:12 为什么让埃及人议论，说：‘把他们领出来是出于恶意的，要在山上杀死他们，在地上消灭他们’呢？求你回心转意，不发烈怒；求你改变初衷，不降祸给你的人民。
出32:12 Why let the Egyptians say, He took them out to an evil fate, to put them to death on the mountains, cutting them off from the earth? Let your wrath be turned away from them, and send not this evil on your people.
出32:13 求你记念你的仆人亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各；你曾经指着自己向他们起誓，说：‘我必使你的后裔增多，好像天上的星一样；我必把我应许的这全地赐给你的后裔，他们必永远承受这地作产业。’”
出32:13 Have in mind Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you gave your oath, saying, I will make your seed like the stars of heaven in number, and all this land will I give to your seed, as I said, to be their heritage for ever.
出32:14 于是，耶和华改变初衷，不把他所说的祸降在他的人民身上。
出32:14 So the Lord let himself be turned from his purpose of sending punishment on his people.
出32:15 摩西转身，从山上下来，手里拿着两块法版；法版是两面写的，这面和那面都写着字。
出32:15 Then Moses came down the mountain with the two stones of the law in his hand; the stones had writing on their two sides, on the front and on the back.
出32:16 法版是 神的工作，字是 神写的，刻在法版上。
出32:16 The stones were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, cut on the stones.
出32:17 约书亚听见人民呼喊的声音的时候，就对摩西说：“营里有战争的声音。”
出32:17 Now when the noise and the voices of the people came to the ears of Joshua, he said to Moses, There is a noise of war in the tents.
出32:18 摩西回答：“这不是战胜的呼声，也不是战败的呼声；我听见的是歌唱的声音。”
出32:18 And Moses said, It is not the voice of men who are overcoming in the fight, or the cry of those who have been overcome; it is the sound of songs which comes to my ear.
出32:19 摩西走近营前的时候，看见了那牛犊，又看见了有人唱歌跳舞，他就发烈怒，把两块法版从他的手中摔掉，在山下把它们摔碎了。
出32:19 And when he came near the tents he saw the image of the ox, and the people dancing; and in his wrath Moses let the stones go from his hands, and they were broken at the foot of the mountain.
出32:20 又把他们所做的那牛犊拿过来，用火焚烧，磨到粉碎，撒在水面上，让以色列人喝。
出32:20 And he took the ox which they had made, burning it in the fire and crushing it to powder, and he put it in the water and made the children of Israel take a drink of it.
出32:21 摩西对亚伦说：“这人民向你作了什么，你竟使他们陷在大罪里呢？”
出32:21 And Moses said to Aaron, What did the people do to you that you let this great sin come on them?
出32:22 亚伦回答：“求我主不要发烈怒，你知道这人民倾向罪恶。
出32:22 And Aaron said, Let not my lord be angry; you have seen how the purposes of this people are evil.
出32:23 他们对我说：‘给我们做神像，可以在我们前面引路，因为那摩西，就是把我们从埃及地领出来的那个人，我们不知道他遭遇了什么事。’
出32:23 For they said to me, Make us a god to go before us: as for this Moses, who took us up out of the land of Egypt, we have no idea what has come to him.
出32:24 我对他们说：‘凡是有金子的，都可以摘下来’，他们就给了我；我把它丢在火里，这牛犊就出来了。”
出32:24 Then I said to them, Whoever has any gold, let him take it off; so they gave it to me, and I put it in the fire, and this image of an ox came out.
出32:25 摩西看见人民放肆原来是亚伦纵容他们，使他们成为那些起来与他们为敌的人的笑柄，
出32:25 And Moses saw that the people were out of control, for Aaron had let them loose to their shame before their haters:
出32:26 就站在营门中，说：“凡是属耶和华的，都可以到我这里来。”于是，所有利未的子孙都到他那里聚集。
出32:26 Then Moses took his place at the way into the tents, and said, Whoever is on the Lord's side, let him come to me. And all the sons of Levi came together to him.
出32:27 摩西对他们说：“耶和华以色列的 神这样说：‘你们各人要把自己的剑佩在大腿上，在营中往来行走，从这门到那门；你们各人要杀自己的兄弟、邻舍和亲人。’”
出32:27 And he said to them, This is the word of the Lord, the God of Israel: Let every man take his sword at his side, and go from one end of the tents to the other, putting to death his brother and his friend and his neighbour.
出32:28 利未的子孙照着摩西的话作了；那一天，人民中被杀的约有三千人。
出32:28 And the sons of Levi did as Moses said; and about three thousand of the people were put to death that day.
出32:29 摩西说：“今天你们要奉献自己归耶和华为圣，因为各人牺牲了自己的儿子和兄弟，好使耶和华今天赐福给你们。”
出32:29 And Moses said, You have made yourselves priests to the Lord this day; for every one of you has made the offering of his son and his brother; the blessing of the Lord is on you this day.
出32:30 第二天，摩西对人民说：“你们犯了大罪，现在我要上耶和华那里去，或者我可以为你们赎罪。”
出32:30 And on the day after, Moses said to the people, Great has been your sin: but I will go up to the Lord, and see if I may get forgiveness for your sin.
出32:31 于是，摩西回到耶和华那里，说：“唉，这人民犯了大罪，为自己做了金神像。
出32:31 Then Moses went back to the Lord and said, This people has done a great sin, making themselves a god of gold;
出32:32 现在，如果你肯赦免他们的罪，那就好了；如果不肯，求你从你所写的册上把我涂抹吧。”
出32:32 But now, if you will give them forgiveness--but if not, let my name be taken out of your book.
出32:33 耶和华对摩西说：“谁得罪了我，我就要从我的册上把谁涂抹。
出32:33 And the Lord said to Moses, Whoever has done evil against me will be taken out of my book.
出32:34 现在你去吧，领这人民到我吩咐你的地方去。看哪，我的使者必在你前面引路；只是在我追讨的日子，我必追讨他们的罪。”
出32:34 But now, go, take the people into that place of which I have given you word; see, my angel will go before you: but when the time of my judging has come, I will send punishment on them for their sin.
出32:35 耶和华击杀人民是因为他们敬拜亚伦做的牛犊。
出32:35 And the Lord sent punishment on the people because they gave worship to the ox which Aaron made.
