58:1 Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?

N 诗58:1 Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge uprightly among men?

58:2 Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

N 诗58:2 No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth.

58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

N 诗58:3 Even from birth the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward and speak lies.

K 诗58:4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear;

N 诗58:4 Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like that of a cobra that has stopped its ears,

58:5 Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.

N 诗58:6 Break the teeth in their mouths, O God; tear out, O LORD, the fangs of the lions!

58:7 Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.

N 诗58:7 Let them vanish like water that flows away; when they draw the bow, let their arrows be blunted.

58:8 As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.

N 诗58:8 Like a slug melting away as it moves along, like a stillborn child, may they not see the sun.

58:9 Before your pots can feel the thorns, he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, both living, and in his wrath.

58:10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

N 诗58:10 The righteous will be glad when they are avenged, when they bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.

58:11 So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.

N 诗58:11 Then men will say, "Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth."
