诗49:1 可拉子孙的诗,交给诗班长。万民哪!你们要听这话;世上的居民哪!你们要留心听。

诗49:1 <Alamoth. To the chief music-maker. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm.> Give attention to this, all you peoples; let your ears be open, all you who are living in the world.

诗49:2 不论地位高低,或贫或富,都要一同留心听。

诗49:2 High and low together, the poor, and those who have wealth.

诗49:3 我的口要说出智慧的话;我的心要默想明智的事。

诗49:3 From my mouth will come words of wisdom; and in the thoughts of my heart will be knowledge.

诗49:4 我要留心聆听箴言;我要弹琴解开谜语。

诗49:4 I will put my teaching into a story; I will make my dark sayings clear with music.

诗49:5 在患难的日子,暗中迫害我的恶人围绕我的时候,我何须惧怕呢?

诗49:5 What cause have I for fear in the days of evil, when the evil-doing of those who are working for my downfall is round about me?

诗49:6 他们倚靠财富,自夸多财。

诗49:6 Even of those whose faith is in their wealth, and whose hearts are lifted up because of their stores.

诗49:7 但他们没有一个能把他的兄弟赎回,或把他的赎价交给 神,

诗49:7 Truly, no man may get back his soul for a price, or give to God the payment for himself;

诗49:8 (因为他生命的赎价非常昂贵,只好永远放弃,)

诗49:8 (Because it takes a great price to keep his soul from death, and man is not able to give it.)

诗49:9 使他永远活着,不见朽坏。

诗49:9 So that he might have eternal life, and never see the underworld.

诗49:10 他看见智慧人死去,愚昧人和愚顽人一同灭亡,把他们的财产留给别人。

诗49:10 For he sees that wise men come to their end, and foolish persons of low behaviour come to destruction together, letting their wealth go to others.

诗49:11 他们心里想,他们的家必永存,他们的住处必留到万代;他们以自己的名,称自己的地方。

诗49:11 The place of the dead is their house for ever, and their resting-place through all generations; those who come after them give their names to their lands.

诗49:12 但是人不能长享富贵;他们就像要灭亡的牲畜一样。

诗49:12 But man, like the animals, does not go on for ever; he comes to an end like the beasts.

诗49:13 这就是愚昧人的道路;但在他们以后的人,还欣赏他们的话。(细拉)

诗49:13 This is the way of the foolish; their silver is for those who come after them, and their children get the pleasure of their gold. (Selah.)

诗49:14 他们好像羊群被派定下阴间;死亡必作他们的牧人。到了早晨,正直人要管辖他们;他们的形体必被阴间消灭,他们再没有住处。

诗49:14 Death will give them their food like sheep; the underworld is their fate and they will go down into it; their flesh is food for worms; their form is wasted away; the underworld is their resting-place for ever.

诗49:15 但 神必救赎我的灵魂脱离阴间的权势,因为他必把我接去。(细拉)

诗49:15 But God will get back my soul; for he will take me from the power of death. (Selah.)

诗49:16 别人发财,家室增荣的时候,你不要惧怕。

诗49:16 Have no fear when wealth comes to a man, and the glory of his house is increased;

诗49:17 因为他死的时候,什么也不能带走;他的荣华也不能随他下去。

诗49:17 For at his death, he will take nothing away; his glory will not go down after him.

诗49:18 他在世的时候,虽然自称是有福的,并且说:“只要你丰足,人就称赞你。”

诗49:18 Though he might have pride in his soul in his life-time, and men will give you praise if you do well for yourself,

诗49:19 他还要归到他历代的祖宗那里去,永不再见光明。

诗49:19 He will go to the generation of his fathers; he will not see the light again.

诗49:20 人享富贵而不聪明,就像要灭亡的牲畜一样。

诗49:20 Man, like the animals, does not go on for ever; he comes to an end like the beasts.
